Last summer's event was a great success and we were proud to hold an event using only 40mm-scale boards and throwing meters. We have had nothing but positive feedback on the boards and the only negative on the event was that we hadn't given enough notice. So this time we're planning the event WELL in advance and we look forward to the biggest BB tournament Canada has ever seen. We look forward to seeing see last year's participants return and hope to see a lot of new faces as well.

Now that I know about it with enough notice, I should be able to book the time off next year for this (have to book holidays at the start of the year and no changes allowed).
Hopefully I can convince some other coaches here in Alberta to attend as well.

GJ,

Question. Chaos Cup is allowing the 3 new teams. Dungeonbowl looks like they will be as well.

Any chance we can get the Spike to allow them?

If this is what the community is doing - allowing Chaos Pact, Slann and Underworld to the list of legal tournament rosters for majors, then I don't see why not. I'll talk to my members and see about amending the Tournament Pdf to include these teams.

Thanks for the heads up Tom,

That's horrible. I hate hearing that because it probably also means that flights out of Canada have followed a similiar vein. Hopefully it becomes more reasonable in the new year as I want to see as many easterners in North America and Europeans as possible.

Vancouver is a blast to visit, as it is the only place I know where you can go snowboarding and go to the beach within an hours drive.

Craig.

Good. That sounds WAY better then what you quoted before. In fact, that sounds so cheap that I'll have to check out that site myself. :D

That does sound good. That is cheaper than the best I can find from Ottawa $970 on Westjet :(

Yeah, so I talked to most of the senior members of the club and nobody voiced any objections to adding in the 3 new teams to the allowable rosters for Spike 2009. The tournament rules will be altered accordingly.

I'll be curious to see how many Slann and Chaos Pact teams will be attempted.

Galak - are these teams currently being included in NAF rankings?

the three new teams are in the NAF rankings, we have a couple of players ranked for them already!
Which is quick work indeed.

Most definately yes. And shock horror, I think we have them in at the GT In the UK as well. Who would have said one year ago all the majors would recognise them?
