Hey guys,

after the experience of the recent tourneys and not at least the feedback from YOU out there, I'm thinking about leaving the softpoints out for next years Dungeon Bowl.

BUT
There will be a penalty for "unfair" coaches - something like yellow and red cards and the loss of tourney points...

AND
nice painting will be important for "best painted" team competition.

What do YOU think?

Cheers
Sascha

Points for best Painted doesn´t really match with the real competition ^^ I think a special title like "best painted team" would be really enough ^^

As for unfair coaches... when will you get a penality? When you cheat or even when you are arrogant ^^ It doesn´t mean that you are unfair when you are only disliked by your opponent :>

In my opinion, those soft points weren't the problem last Dungeon Bowl. The real problem was how they've been used. You've added painting points and sportsmanship points to the normal tournament points, meaning that someone who lost all his games could reach a position in the middle of the table due to nice painting and sportsmanship.

You could your system from last time, but please use those soft points as an additional tiebraker and not for direct ranking purposes. To be honest, that would be a big administration overhead for nearly no effect, so you could as good leave those softpoints out.

Or make a special prize: Best sportsman, and don't use them for ranking at all.

With the next years tourney, we will forgo the sportingpointsystem for the first time (in five years of Dungeon Bowl).

To organise a tourney on this high standard and of this public value - as one of the four Majors in Blood Bowl history, it seemed to be necessary, that we had to force the behaviour and sportmanship of each and every participiant; with so many different cultures, tempers and characters - well, the last years only showed us, that such a system could be responsible for misunderstandings and disturbances of a atmosphere we love to generate.

So that's where we stand now: We hope that YOUR „Outstanding Performance“ on sportmanship and love of the game will go on; even without any points for it ;-)
