I like this!

(Mainly because I'm in joint first place!).

And how come Hawk is ahead of me? Is this just the old 'alphabetical bias' working against me again???

Indeed. Internet searches for gauntlet/fist trophies did yield some interesting results. This was one of the better and more understated ones :)

Update after Pearly Kings and Queens.

Good debut scores for Mubo and Geggster. Vmcat moves into the top 5. Landrover and Hawk still at the top...

So interesting point - as is traditional I awarded Most CAS and Most TDs to coaches who hadn't won another prize, even though they hadn't actually scored the most TDs / inflicted the most CAS. Is this the intention in terms of GG points? Seems like there is a penalty to finishing 3rd in tournaments as 4th + TDs will get you more points.

A few discussions about this already if I remember rightly. Some TOs like to share the prizes around e.g. not giving TDs to a top three coach even if he got the most; some like to give the prizes out regardless of placings e.g. I think this is Hawca’s preference. The only stipulation I’ve made is that you can’t score for placing top three and take points for Most Cas and Most TDs.

It does create the anomaly you describe, but I’m happy to accept the system may not be ‘perfect’ and go with the flow over the next few months, seeing how it pans out.

The alternative would be to try to break the tradition of prize sharing, and have MC and MTD always go the highest number. But there’s no way of enforcing that (even if I wanted to).
