Hi everybody,

Portuguese team have a problem.

Indeed, Tiago and his 4 friends after having confirmed that they come to the eurobowl, they change their mind.

The problem is that during this time we have book our flights and holidays.

As you know portuguese players are rare...

We have no problem to find players to make a team but portuguse players will be hard.

What can we do?

Haktar Portuguese Captain.

Could Wales and Portugal join forces as a one off deal kind of thing?

Once the ball gets rolling, next year they should have no / less problems. Look at Scotland.

there was about 4 or 5 of them which was a start. They briefly got up to 7 i think before people started to pull out.

Last Eurobowl edition, Scotland did it, but this edition we noticed since the first day that the minimum amount of players for making a team is 6 and 2 freebotters.

I'm going to talk with the organizers, as soon as posible I'll give you an answer Haktar, but probably it will be no.

Come on guys.

It is a game, we have book our flight thinking it was ok for the other players.
Can we make a exception?

I am sure you can find a Spain B team to fill in rather than a Freebooter team.

It is a really delicated issue. We understand your position and it is a pitty what happened, but you have to understand us.

Since the very beginning, we warned that we won't accept a similar situation than Scotland last year. If we let you play with more than 2 freebooters we are opening a door we don't want to. If 2 Hungarian players (I used Hungary as an example, Hungarians don't be mad at me, please) want to play with 6 of the Spanish people that have paid as visitors, morally we wouldn't be able to deny their request and, of course, that's not the spirit of the Eurobowl.

If we let play a team half Welsh, half Portuguese we will again set a dangerous precedent for other countries to do the same in the future. And again, that's not what Eurobowl has to be.

We feel terribly sorry for Tiago and his 4 friends letting you down, but we won't change the rules just one month before the tournament. We hope you'll understand our position.

Of course, as you have already booked the flights, we will be very pleased of having you at the Eurobowl enjoying the atmosphere. Maybe there is a last minute drop to fill in and you can always play against some other visitors (I know it is not the same but at least it is something).

We are not in the same case that you are saying.
We waited for the confirmation of tiago and his friends before booking our flight.
I totally agree with your rules but the case is different.

The tickets ' flight can't be cancelled. (i have asked the company...)

Indeed if we haven't book our flight the situation was different, but now...

I mean no disrespect to any of the Portugal coaches but I find it unlikely that there will be a significant "ball rolling" effect for Portugal if they can't make the closest EuroBowl they're likely to see.

It's a bad situation but I (as a new member of a team that has struggled to get players to travel in the past) support the organisers decision.
