Any idea what a taxi might cost from Barcelona airport to the venue? I haven't got a clue of the taxi fares in Spain ...kewan wrote:taxi or rent a car, I think this are the best optionsQuermitt wrote:Hi there,

If there's an organisational problem with a side event then that's cool. I'm certain this will be a great tourney in any case!Longshot wrote:the problems that can occurs with side tourney:
-big organisation needed

so i am not sure that a side tourny is a great idea imho
My angle is this: finding some way of involving the rest of the community as much as possible i.e. those people who have given a lot but have not been fortunate enough to make their national team.

Well it seem to be 65 kloms from the Airport to the venue. So I think a taxi might come in quite costly.
Is there any info on a shuttle bus from the Airport?
Can maybe some of the organisators say something to it?

If you want we can rent a bus, it will depart from the airport at 7 pm and at 11 pm (per example) and it will depart from the tournament to the airport, one on sunday night, an another one on Monday morning (or 2 travels on monday morning)
For doing this I need to know all the interested teams, people per team, his flight arrivals and departs, and then I can tell you, how much is the money that everyone is going to pay for this service.
Are you agree?

I'm agree with you that a friendly little tourney for the "Eurobowl fans" that arfe going to see it but not to play it will be good to encourage the people to live in the event. This "side event" were discussed between spanish players and the Eurobowl team.Pippy wrote:If there's an organisational problem with a side event then that's cool. Our idea was perform the "MiniEurobowl" just for fun and make little (3 players) teams or pairs taking countries as San Marino, Andorra, Lietchestein and so on, and playing swiss without any prize. But, unfortunely, Longshot has the clue. Eurobowl players decide that this generate more problems than fun so the side matches will not be organized in any way.
So, finally, this is their tourney, their location and their organization, so they decide.

mini Eurobowl (maybe under another name perhaps) is a great idea. Have it as streetbrawl maybe?
It could give teams like Wales a chance to turn up and play and therefore gain momentum for next year and/or those B teams a run out or the Dutch to field all there players without upsetting people
but if there is no room there is no room

We (team Belgium) will probably take a flight that arrives on Friday at 19h45. So we will have seven or eight people that need transportation at that time.
Just to give you an idea, a car rental would cost about 300 euro for three days and then you get a van that can hold seven to nine people. Just to give you and all other attendants an idea of the cost involved in renting a car ...
Cheers!

Re: Portugal in the Eurobowl
Kewan, kewan wrote:Tpalhares, Eurobowl is not the WC, at all. I remember that in the WC Portugal was represented by 2/3 portuguese coaches and 3/4 foreigners. At Eurobowl, you can get 2 freebotters, but the other 6 coaches must be from Portugal (not be Luso-descendent's that play the WC with Portugal)tpalhares wrote: I will try to organize as soon as possible a team with Portugueses and Luso-descendent´s (That represented Portugal in Nottingham).
But i can assure you that Portugal will be in the Eurobowl.
Thanks

Concerning the Portuguese team that play de the WC, we were 2 portugueses and 4 no portugueses and no luso-descendent players.
It was not easy to organize this team.
Concerning the 2 portugueses, we have our portuguese id cards.
So, we expect to come to the eurobowl as portuguese players and not as freebooters...
The confusion came from the fact that we are also french, but for my part i was born in Portugal.
If there is any problems, thanks to tell us...
Tiago, have you find your players?

Hi haktar,
It will be great to see a Portugese team at Eurobowl, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but Eurobowl (more or less) follows FIFA rules on which country you can play for. So if someone lives in Portugal for a long time (and hasn't played for another country) then they can play for Portugal as a Portugeezer!!
I know it has happened many times before, including Norse (played for Holland, but born elsewhere God only knows where though!!! hehehehe).
Don't know if that helps?
