Out of interest, will there be a side tournament for attending coaches not in a national team?

Team Oranje is there:
We'll have 9 players, a few of them will play one game less wich will mean that one player will play five games with five different races.

Gorbad - Team Captain cuz he's got the most caps by far.

Glad you guys have settled for the 9 players option. Seemed to be the most diplomatic as far as I am concerned and you never know if someone in the end might not be able to make it to Barcelona after all.

Don't know about PB, but I will only be able to go (for Wales) if there is still a place come the end of September. Due to a University trip to the Czech Rep over the whole summer, I cant spare the cash until I get back.

I agree, it’s a pity there won’t be a side tourney. Eurobowl is an awesome concept but one way that the NWC was better was its inclusiveness i.e. anyone was able to come and roll dice and have fun whether they were on their national side or not.

Eurobowl is not the NWC - we know that - but I think it would’ve been nice to open up the event a little to the wider community.

Of course only the organisers can say if a side tourney would be possible but would it be so difficult to throw together a small swiss event? Is it too late to reconsider?

Bah, if I am able to attend as a spectator (my own financial situation being the big 'if') I will play fellow spectators such as Panico just for the love of the game (and the love of the fact that I do not havea schedule to stick to

We though about it, but it's not possible for us. We haven't enough rooms for both tournaments players & guests and the most important thing, we haven't enough space for playing both tourneys.

OK if the problem is space then that's fair enough. I hope future Eurobowls will be able to incorporate a side tourney. It's the way forward IMO.
