The stunty section has the same wording, or very similar as last year and in the example given the stunty team gets 10pts not 11. Last year it turned out these full 10 teams all needed to be stunty so I see no change?Loki wrote:Stunty now has "Then every coach is awarded a bonus point for every full 10 players below them in the ranking." which is didn't last year.
What I don't get is that the, at least two races rule, being relaxed. If you only play one Stunty race and win then you are surley the SW Ogre or Goblin or Halfling champion not the SW 'Stunty' Champion.

Ah, yep I was misreading, and i hadn't compared last years to this one; it looks the like nothing has changed from last year, apologies.Itchen Masack wrote:The stunty section has the same wording, or very similar as last year and in the example given the stunty team gets 10pts not 11. Re: South-West Tournament Championship 2014
Might have been an interpretation issue between this and last year - we had to make a lot of it up on the fly, and didn't think as many people would be interested in this as were (and still are). We really didn't expect to have a tournament where Stunties would get bonus points due to the numbers (ARBBL), but mainly we've looked at the discussions about the Stunty Cup and agreed that Stunty coaches that finish high-up overall deserve more points that ones that finish low in the table, hence this year they'll get the bonus points for every 10 coaches they place higher than, rather than every 10 stunty coaches.
So wording might be the same, intention is different.
Don't worry, I expect enough people to be scrutinising my scoring sheets to find any errors.

Here's a thought.....
Instead of picking holes in every suggestion draft a proposed scoring system and submit it to the guys who are giving thier time to organise this.....
Or
If your that unhappy with the proposed system, don't take part.
either way would be more productive than find examples of how things are not fair. It's starting to get tedious......

Guys, please don't fall out over this - it's meant to be a bit of extra fun on top of the normal enjoyment we get from playing BB.
In no way it is designed to screw anyone over, and the organisers are more than happy to hear of improvements that can be made to it (as long as it doesn't need the use of a Cray supercomputer
).
And finally, and this honestly isn't aimed at anyone, it's just Glow's post reminded me and it should have been made clear both this year and last - anyone that doesn't want to take part does not have to - just contact one of the organisers and we can remove you from the listing.

A slight over-reaction from Glow?! But I'm sure I'll get used to him
Both Lunchmoney & Darkson have said they are happy to discuss the system and that was honestly all I was doing. And as it turns out the system IS being run with the minor tweak I believed makes more sense, just the example of scoring threw me off

Re: South-West Tournament Championship 2014
been asked for a clarification of this:
Spiky and Inkpwn were both planned to only attend one day so this year won't count for number of participants this year.
However, Ray and Pass just didn't show (snow! pah!) so will be counted - everyone beat them fair and square.
Given that it seems to mainly affect my tournament (I understand, I'd avoid Andover as much as possible too!), looking at last years tournament as an example:Darkson wrote:Any planned “one-day only” coaches (historically @ARBBL) will not be counted for the number of coaches in a tournament – coaches who just don’t show will.

AndyDavo and Podfrey were 1st and 2nd, though not sure if either is likely to attend any more SWTC tournaments this year?
Itchen leads for Stunty Cup(and came 8th overall).
Waiting for the Score file from Hawca to work out the scores, as I'm not straining my eyes on the pic in the Welsh thread!

Re: South-West Tournament Championship 2014
Slight change to the scoring system - the "all 0 are changed to 1" is moved before the bonus points, which means that those that finish higher up the table get more than those finishing in the bottom (and before anyone asks, no, I don't benefit from this change
, in fact, I'm penalised for being crap!
).
Hope to have the opening table up in the next hour or so.
