There have been comments made over the years that would make me very uncomfortable playing under the English flag.

Dear English Gentlemen,
Scots have fought for 2 millennium to maintain their Scottish identity. Scotland was the first country to come out of the Dark Ages with almost exactly it's current borders and has the oldest national flag in the world. It is not "nationalist politics" (sigh) it is national pride. The English have an unfortunate habit of calling anything British as English and most are completely unaware that this does not sit well with their much smaller neighbours.
Yours politely a proud Scot

It's not really cool to generalise so much about your neighbouring countries either... I, personally refer to myself as British, not English and would fly a Union flag before an English one. Either way, if these specific Scots are fine with being collected under an English flag on a forum I don't think it's going to make much of a difference in the real world. Let's get this thread back on point before it gets too political and antagonistic because it seems like things are getting blown a bit out of proportion...Garrick wrote:The English have an unfortunate habit of calling anything British as English and most are completely unaware that this does not sit well with their much smaller neighbours

Hi J_Bone, national rather than political and definitely not antagonistic (if you knew me you would already have known thatJ_Bone wrote:Let's get this thread back on point before it gets too political and antagonistic because it seems like things are getting blown a bit out of proportion...

Glad you took my comments in the intended spirit mate... I'm forming up one or maybe two teams from our league in Derby. Very much looking forward to a completely different tournament format to what I've experienced so far! (And not being ENTIRELY to blame for my awful placing)

Registration in for a fourth French team, "Pilou". Amazing effort!
Did I big up the Swiss too? Also hugely appreciate your support guys! Most travelled team? Or will that be Pilou?
DBBLers, and all - not too late to register in time for the early bird discount. The deadline is of course tomorrow when the clock strikes midnight, or something like that...

You should not bother about your flags guys.
There will be only french colors on the podium anyway
