Pippy, do you have a fleece?
I know for a fact Geggster has a ski jacket that has "vent zips" near the arm pits to aid temperature control!

What's the rush for the rules, guys? With all this talk of fleeces keeping you busy you're not exactly going to jacket in and go play another tournament...
Sorry.
Sorry.

Re: Flame Bowl III - November 27th and 28th 2010, Manchester
Hello all!
I'm soooo sorry about the delay in getting the rules sorted; they've been sent off to Geoff this AM, and he's promised to host them so they should hopefully be visible later today. For those of you that need to plan your painting schedules; team selection based on a set number of points per coach team is out, and bonus points for using lower tier teams is in. Other changes are the cost of a couple of skills, change from 3 to 4 team games, and block on any repitition of team or player matchups.
Thanks for the fleece updates too, very informative.

Does that mean we can get back to fleeces now?
And hooray - gogo Flame Bowl. I already thought this was the best ruleset in tournament Blood Bowl, and it's better now. Good show.

I really like the rules for this.
Not least because it's (as far I know) new to provide bonus points for, effectively giant-killing, but it also means that the tiers of races isn't used definitively to provide additional skills/money to buy your sub-optimal team (which distorts NAF rankings).
Just for example, if I beat some Undead with, say, my halflings, it's not because of a leg-up that for the most part balanced the teams, but it still provides an incentive for taking them. Quite whether the bonus points is adequately measured, we'll have to see, but I like it. Nice one, Mark.
Note - this is not an attempt to start a huge discussion on the merits of balancing the teams at team-creation and/or NAF rankings.

One question about the tier bonuses, do they only apply against higher tiered teams? If not won't this give an advantge to stunty coaches who inevitably find themselves playing nothing but other stunties after game 1?

They'll have to have lost to get down the bottom, and if they win will find themselves rising the tables and so playing non-Stunties again.

Good work, Mr Nips. The bonus tier points are a particular favourite.

Re: Flame Bowl III - November 27th and 28th 2010, Manchester
Quick rules Q Mark:
Sorry if it says in the pack but will the bonus pts be added at the end of the tourney or after each round?
If after each round, it's very likely you'll get lots of matchups within the same tier e.g. all the tier 2 teams that win in round 1 will have 11 pts (rather than 10 for tier 1, 12 for tier 3 etc). So when the scores go in rank order, it's likely that they'll be bunched together.
Likewise those who draw will likely end up playing the same tier e.g. tier 1 - 5, tier 2 - 6, tier 3 - 7 etc.
As the tourney goes on it's less likely it will happen, but I think it's very likely to happen in the first few rounds.
Didn't know whether you had considered this?

I thought these bonus points were only added to "coach team" scores, not individual coach scores?
