Steelbowl III, 25th January 2020, Sheffield - NAF Sanctioned
Sheffield's biggest (standard) Blood Bowl tournament returns!!
Steelbowl III is a NAF-ranked Blood Bowl Tournament with a twist to be held at the Outpost, 2 Neepsend Lane, Sheffield S3 8AU on the 25th January 2020.
Join us for three rounds of sporting mayhem with the heaviest ball out there on the Blood Bowl scene!!
The format will be a standard resurrection format with the same team roster to be used in every match with no injuries, deaths, raised players or player progression carrying over between games.
There will be trophies for the the Overall Winner, Most Casualties, Most Touchdowns, Stunty Cup, Darwin Award (most casualties suffered) and Best Head Coach Model! That's right, your Head coach models get their time in the sun with a prize for the best modelled and painted Head Coach judged by your fellow coaches.
We will be using the most up to date NAF rules including the Arguing the Call rule. Pile on can be used as normal without using a reroll. The Illegal Procedure rule will not be enforced.
Team Roster
Coaches have 1.2 million to spend on buying players, coaching staff, apothecaries, fan factor and rerolls. Khorne, Brettonian and Slann teams may all be used. Coaches should refer to the NAF website for the most up to date sanctioned team roster list.
Inducements are not allowed with the following exceptions:
- 0-2 Star Players may be purchased for a team once the roster has 11 standard players on it’s roster.
- Halflings may purchase a Halfling Masterchef for 100K
- Goblin teams may purchase up to three bribes at 50K each
All team rosters should be sent to steelbowl@yahoo.com by the 18th January 2020 along with your NAF name and number. Coaches who submit their rosters on time will have an extra fan factor on their roster for free!
To play you must be a NAF member – it would be best to sign up beforehand but you can on the day also. The fee to become a member won't be included in the ticket price and should be paid separately.
The tournament cost is £10 and can be bought from the Outpost website directly at https://www.the-outpost.co.uk/product/t ... lbowl-iii/
Alternatively you can purchase instore or via telephone on (0114) 275 2172.
Skills
Each teams have a skill package to enhance their players; this will be done on a tier system similar to that used by the UKTC.
A normal skill will cost 20 gold coins and a double skill 30 gold coins. You may not assign more than one additional skill to any player and star players may not have additional skills added. The same skill can only be bought a maximum of twice on a team.
One double skill may be taken on Tier 1 -5 teams. Tier Stunty have no limit to the total number of double skills they can buy but still can only buy the same skill a maximum of twice.
Coaches will have the following gold to spend on skills for their team:
TIER 1: Undead, Wood Elf, Lizardmen, Dark Elf. 100,000 gold coins
TIER 2: Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dwarf, Norse, Skaven 130,000 gold coins
TIER 3: Bretonnian, Human, Necromantic, Orc, High Elf, Elf Union 150,000 gold coins
TIER 4: Chaos Pact, Khemri 160,000 gold coins

Time Limits
There is a time limit for games so coaches are encouraged to play 4 minute turns to ensure games are completed. Any games other than game 1 that reach the time limit will have to be halted and the result at this point will be the final result of that game. Game 1 may be played into lunch only if both coaches agree this with the TO at the start of lunch.
The Steel Ball
The Steelbowl is named after the famous heavy steel lined ball used in all its games!
When the ball is kicked off two D6 are rolled for scatter and the lowest result is picked to determine the scatter distance. In addition it is not affected by the gentle gust of wind from the 'Changing Weather' result from the kick off table. The distance of the the ball being thrown in by the crowd is unaffected.
When the steel ball is thrown, thrown in or kicked off, it will not bounce if it lands in an unoccupied square. If it lands in a square with a prone or stunned player make an Armour roll for the player before the ball bounces. If they are removed from play as a result, the ball does not bounce.
Scheule
The round 1 match will be randomly determined. In the following rounds players will be ranked by points total and paired off into matches e.g. 1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs. 4th etc. Where players are tied on points and so there are no clear pairings, the match ups will also be determined by combined casualty and touchdown difference and then Strength of Schedule.
09:30 – 10:00: Registration
• 10:00 – 12:15: Match 1
• 12:15– 12:45: Lunch
• 12:45 – 15:00: Match 2
• 15:10 – 17:25: Match 3
• 17:45: Awards
Tournament points are scored as follows for each match:
50 points for a win
20 point for a draw
0 points for a loss
Coaches will gain an extra point for each casualty they cause by blocking – only blocks that would earn SPPs count. They can gain a maximum of an extra 3 points each game this way.
Also coaches will gain an extra point for each touchdown they score. They can gain a maximum of an extra 3 points each game this way also.
At the end of the tournament, the coach with the highest number of points will be crowned the Steelbowl champion!
Tiebreakers for those on equal points will be determined by (in this order):
Head to Head (if all players on equal points played each other)
Combined casualty and touchdown difference
Strength of Schedule
You need to bring:

If you want all the rosters in advance why do you need a copy for the TO?Littleleadperson wrote: All team rosters should be sent to steelbowl@yahoo.com by the 18th January 2020 along with your NAF name and number. TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Fair point. It’s a copy and paste from a previous rules pack I had. I’ll amend itlunchmoney wrote:Littleleadperson wrote: You need to bring:

I've seen the results on twitter but it had actual names rather than coach names. Give it a few days and see if it appears on here.lunchmoney wrote:Did it happen?Ironjaw wrote:Is this still happening?

The results are in NAF database already; I've tagged the winner on the Hall of Fame. I realise that doesn't help you in regards to the Golden Gauntlet.
