Did I say there was a problem? If so where did I say it was a problem?
Nothing was aimed at you or your event. It was a general question to a general statement. It must have been a general statement as no TO or event was named.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

To add a little that's on topic, I assumed Mike's map was taken from NAF data, therefore I assumed that an event not on the map was not in the NAF sanctioning lists yet.
I guess the error was making assumptions, no matter how safe they appear to be.

I guess that’s clarified that your post was pointless.

Cheers.

Why was it pointless? Did I say something to offend you?

No, not at all, it just seemed like the fact that there were tournaments that were sold out before being listed/approved was incredulous to you and that it was some sort of issue. If that isn’t the case, what was the point you were trying to make as it wasn’t particularly obvious...

Possibly time for a new thread - I think the NAF has previously taken a dim view of tournaments selling out before being listed, in that the point of a 6 week window for sanctioning is so that it's an "open" rather than "invitiational" tournament. Normally invitational tournaments are not sanctioned (with the Eurobowl exception, arguably).

In this case It was “open”, it just had 12 team spaces (36 attendees) so sold out very quickly. It’s not until April, so more than 6 weeks away. It was approved before it sold out. I can’t control how quickly people want to pay for things. It was my tournament that Lumchmoney was asking Vanguard about.

The NAF has a signpost to where tournaments are, it does not hold a monopoly on where, when and how to advertise tournaments.

If we’re talking about not listing tournaments before they’re sanctioned then I don’t think the NAF will get much traction for that tbh. UKTC 2021 is listed, there’s no rule set for that and it’s not sanctioned. I don’t remember this being a feature of the process either.

So, in summary, nice map.

I don't think I ever said that. I wasn't talking about your event; how could I be, I didn't know you were running a thing and I didn't know if has sold out.
You do seen to have taken a post that makes no mention of you personally.

Please see my previous post about why I made a conclusion that an event may have sold out before being added to the NAF.
I'll rewrite it here:

Now it's clear you have NAF sanctioning, so there's nothing to worry about, is there?
