24 Hours Midwinter Madness II - CANCELLED
Hi all,
Just a quick heads-up already for the 24 Hour Midwinter Madness tournament for 2011! Tourney will be held in Turnhout, Belgium again as it was last year.
Date has just been set to 22nd and 23rd of January. We start at 13h on Saterday and go on untill clock strikes 13h on Sunday! All in all we will definately get to 10 games, we will be trying for 11 ...
Rules and all will be anounced later on, but they will for sure be very close to the normal rules as playing 24 hours straight is already "special" enough without any more "special" rules.
Places are a bit limited as we can only host 28 coaches, so if you want to be there, be sure to reserve a spot early enough!
Registered thus far:
1. Xod
2. Driesfield
3. LuintoST

Hi Stan,
Probably the best airports would be either Zaventem (Brussels) or Eindhoven (the Netherlands). From Zaventem you can catch a train to Brussels/Antwerp/Turnhout. Train will take you approximately 2h to 2h30. From Eindhoven airport I have no experience in getting to Turnhout, but since that is only 30 minutes away from Turnhout, I could probably come and pick you up.
I have to admit that Turnhout is probably not the most straightforward place to get to. Just thinking out loud here, but what might be the possibilities for you guys to get an overnight ferry to Rotterdam? It is about 1h drive from Rotterdam to Turnhout. So if you can get a ferry nearby (Hull?) you can splt the costs amongst the lot of you so you'd get here at a reasonable rate AND it might actually be the best way to get here ...
If I can be of any more assistance, drop me an email on quermitt@gmail.com and I'll see what we can figure out!
Cheers,
Seb

Wow, that's a list of coaches quickly filling up... If there's still place, I'd like to be added to that list coaches.

Indeed it is! After 48 hours an unbelievable 22 out of 24 places are spoken for!?! Perhaps I need to start looking for a bigger venue ...
But hey, just so you know: you're in!

An unbelievable three days after announcing this one, my list of 24 attendants is already full! Don't be discouraged though, I will be going to the venue one of the upcoming days to see if we can fit in a couple of extra players and we will then be filling in their names according to order on the reserves list.
So if you're still willing to come, srop a line and we'll see what can be done!
Cheers,
Seb

Hi murley,
Quermitt isn't around a computer for the following days, so it may take him some time to answer, but I think there is still room.

Re: 24 Hours Midwinter Madness II - 22&23 January 2011 - Bel
Due to an unexpected fortune in our adoption procedure, we will be travelling to Ethiopia earlier than expected. Our trip will however coallide with the 24 Hour tournament and therefore the 2011 edition is hereby cancelled.
My apologies to those who were going to attend, we hope everybody will understand that this is a very important and happy moment in our life.
Have a very merry Christmas you all!
Cheers,
Seb

The 24 hours wasn't one i'd be attending anyway, so to me this is a 100% happy news item.
Congratulations to you and Joke and I guess your Christmas can't get any merrier.
