Just curious since Luthor is so expensive ... could you let us know your roster picks around Luthor?

Just curious.

Of course mate...and thanks for asking.

It was 12 thralls (480), Luthor (390), 3 RR (210) and leaves 2FF.

skills were a mix of random and picked skills on players but it ended up that in the 7 game tourney 9 skills went to 9 different thralls. I took Wrestle on nearly every skill but tackle on two.

Wrestle has been, IMO, largely overlooked Tom but for an AV7 team when blocking an Orc blitzer with guard its priceless. I found with the Orc team I played I could out position him...could not keep up with the ball and indeed the Lizards too.... faced with a 3D against needing triple pow to get the ball off Luthor via a skink. Indeed same for Ronnie's Welfs Catcher as that was all he had left....

I found that Luthor was a terrific "fear factor". It was not always what he did...but what he might have done. Several coaches said in the games.... (picture here oppo coach with his hand over Luthor counting squares back to the ball carrier) Luthor goes one, two, dodge on a 3 with rr, three, dodge on a 3 four... hit me 2D block...

Now I didn't do that once but the fact that I COULD have was so difficult to defend against that most players played so tight I could, with 40K unksilled thralls, beat up the few fringe players and then it became difficult for them to score. Hence 5 conceeded in 7 games.

Yep....Luthor was a real star player although if I had taken Block on all those thralls he would not have been as effective. Wrestle giving both down and no turnover gave me the space I needed for the ST5 AG4 to work in. That was the key...no just Luthor... but the skills on the thralls.

I think an all Thrall roster with Luthor would be a tough one for most coaches to win with. Congrats as I don't think you found anything broken ... just played a heck of some games of Blood Bowl.

Oh, and them thralls can dodge.

They can dodge like a dodgey dodging dodge car salesman from dodgville. dodgetown. dodge city, dogge state, the united dodgers of dodgerica, that raise little dodgers called dodge, dodgey, and Dave.

:pissed: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

Just a big thanks to Magic dave and family for letting me stay on their couch, it was very much appreciated.

Oh nothing is broken rule wise.....If anything I thought Luthor was too expensive! You have to consider that 50% of the games he does nothing but move 6 squares carrying the ball.... thats it. 390K is alot of TV tied up in a guy you just move each turn! You play with the 7-8 thralls you have left on the pitch after 2-3 turns.

I had some shocking dice in some games and obviously got some good dice in others. If I were to be really honest, (and in the hope I dont upset my opponents!) I more or less picked on the mistakes my oppo's made. I dont think I did anything particularly innovative or clever, just keep it solid and when I saw the slightest misplacement -- I capitalised.

Yeah that one turn was funny...for me! I am not sure it would have made that much difference...you had a lot to do but yes... I need 3up, 3 up with the first guy... then 4, 3 with the next and 4, 3 with the last..... :D
