My league is breaking in a female newbie right now, actually, and I have played against women in the past, so yes, they
do exist, at least around here (southern Alberta, Canada).

I played against a German lass in the GW BB Tournament and another in Spikey.
There was also a lass in the league I used to play in.
They played (in order) Amazons, Dark Elves and Orcs.
It seems the game has appeal to both genders once any misconceptions are done away with.

My girlfriend plays orcs... She also came in Amsterdam at the Old World Cup, ending with a 1-1-3 record, which was not bad for a coach that is playing the game since just an year

Had an ex who played and a wife of a coach played in our league. Her big guns always scattered the board when she reached, though.
We didn't mind.

My wife's amazons are tied with my orc team for first in our local league. Not sure which is worse though the way she talks about how "cute" some of my orcs look or the way she laughs when she knocks one off the pitch....

There is a lady who plays in Shaniepoos league in Lancaster, apparantly she always beats him, but that doesn't really say much

women are definetley the minority in most gaming circles, but it seems more by personal choice or lack of interest than any chauvinism...And that leaves us lots of room for things like the big guns comment...

We've had a lovely lady in our league for some time who has managed to win a couple tournaments. Playing Amazons and Undead.
