I’m just returning to BB. I played 1st – 3rd editions.

So what is the NAF and is it worth me joining the NAF (and if so why or why not?)

Cheers
Hybrid

The NAF is an international association of players dedicated to Blood Bowl - Games Workshop's game of fantasy football. NAF's goal is to act as a central resource for Blood Bowl coaches the world over - offering news, contacts, discussion, sanctioned tournaments and international player rankings. Whether you're planning to run your own tournament, looking for a league, or just wanting to catch up on the latest from the world of Blood Bowl, NAF HQ aims to provide everything you'll need. Sign up now and get a set of official NAF block dice!

Yes, I find it to be very much worth it.

The NAF is worth joining. Been a member since I started playing again after a long hiatus. Even though you can get the discussions here and go to tournaments as a non-NAF member. The NAF is an organization that keeps blood bowl alive. I am convinced that without the NAF, there would be far less tournaments and tournaments that would exist would struggle to survive. It's a noble cause well worth 10$ a year.

Besides, some tournaments give discounts, you get a set of blocking dice and have access to their forum and league management tools. Also a nice feature is the coach locater which may help you find opponents in the neighborhood.

Oh and then they rank coaches, some people think this is fun. Others don't care so much. You're free to do so.

For the above reasons, I'd highly recommend the NAF if you plan on playing tournaments and getting involved in the wider BB community.

Even if you don't, you get your money's worth with the Block Dice alone.

And, every year when you renew, they send you another set of Block dice. I have 3 or 4 sets now.

After following this thread, I decided to register at NAF and filled out the form at:

http://www.thenaf.net/user.php?op=regis ... le=NewUser

But after hitting the "Purchase NAF Membership" button, the website immediately comes back with an error message:

"You are not authorized to carry out this operation"

I'd like to sign up and pay, but I can't figure out how to proceed.

I've already sent feedback through their "Contact Us" web form, but haven't heard anything back. Can anyone offer any help?

I'm currently scouting my local area ( Jacksonville, FL) to see how much Blood Bowl action I can get here. My decision depends on how many people and how easy it would be to set up a league here. NAF seems like an amazing organization, it's just that I don't know how practical it would be to join now when I don't even know if I'll be able to play on a regular basis.

I try to join for weeks. But the www.thenaf.net site is not working correct, and noone is reaction to my emails.
My frustration grows, and I am asking myself what I pay for.

The server is having some problems right now (see other topics on TBB for details) but I would urge you to be patient as I'm sure both it and your dice are being worked on.

P.S. I'm only a member of NAF, no bias here.
