Mighty Blow - when do you choose?

Post by Evisceratus »

Hi all,

Here's a good n00bish question to entertain you all. :D

When using Mighty Blow, you apply +1 to the armour or injury roll. I assume that you can roll the dice for your opponent's armour, and then decide whether or not to apply the +1, rather than declaring before rolling.

Ta.

Yep, you're right. Roll first, than use mighty blow if needed on armour or keep for injury if not.

You don't happen to have a page reference that says when to use the skill, do you? I have a rules-lawyer in the league and he argues this with me all the time. I've set out to look it up, but nothing jumped out at me.

Page 23, subsection Skills.
Unless otherwise stated in the skill description, the following
rules apply to all skills:
1. All bonuses/modifiers from skills can be combined.
2. All skills may be used an unlimited number of times per Action.
3. Some skills refer to pushing a player back in order to work. These
skills will work as long as you roll a result of ‘Pushed’, ‘Defender
Stumbles’, or ‘Defender Down’ on the Block dice.
4. Skill use is not mandatory.
5. You can choose to use a skill that affects a dice roll after rolling the
dice (e.g. Diving Tackle does not need to be used until after seeing
the result of the Dodge roll).

6. Only Extraordinary skills work when a player is Prone or Stunned.
I've highlighted the important paragraph.
