Hey I just joined the forum and was wondering if anyone has some advice for what would be a good blood bowl team to start of with because me and 5 other friends of mine are starting bloodbowl. I think that the vampire team looks great but are they difficult to play with?

I suggest playing several one-off games to tell which team you're best acclimated to!

I favor higher armor teams since I can't seem to run from a battle.... But I'm also prone to open running plays... so it's Necros/Orcs/Lizardmen for me!!!

Vamps rely so much on re-rolls that maybe you shouldn't... however, a site search for Vampire should give you the best advice on recent tactics....

The most important thing is to have fun and don't get overly upset about initial losses.... This game IS awesome....

I agree with Vomit (heh). Try out several teams, you might be surprised what style you prefer. Back in the 2e days when I started playing, I figured I would enjoy the flash of the pass and tried elves, but wouldn't back down from a midfield melee. Eventually I learned I like the versatile teams like humans and orcs, bash the dodgers, dodge the bashers, a little run, a little pass, a little TTM...

vampires are a hard team to play well

a lot of coaches who have played for years find them really hard to use, wouldn't recommend them for a new guy unless you like a steep learning curve ;]

Conversely I would add that playing a vamp team once or twice teaches you a valuable lesson. "2+ rolls never happen when you need them" Once you've got that lesson under your belt, you don't need to play as vamps again ;)

I would always reccomed playing teams with straight forward rules like Humans or Orcs to get the hang of the game. Even without big guys to start with. Once you have had a few games and understand things like basic line ups, Block and assist rules thene try your hand at a few other teams.

If you are on a budget buy the Vamp team but just use them as Humans to start with.

The Vampire team is one of the most powerful looking on a basic stat line (4 STR & 4 AG are ace) But once you have played them and a few have munched your own players or ended up in dugouts for most of the game you realise that this is a team that is more suited to the seasoned player and even they are wary!! :-?

after a thourough read through the rules and a lot of careful consideration i have decided to collect an Amazon team as they seem to be ok for a starting team and they just look pretty cool :D. P.S are there any good tactics for using amazons that someone could tell me about?

Hi, welcome to BloodBowl. Let me show you the handy search function.

Enter Amazon in the search line and Tactics & Team Development in the Forums field.

One result is this thread: viewtopic.php?t=20242&highlight=amazon

Hope this helps
