Hello guys, Im very very new to bloodbowl only played a few games, and getting used to the rules. And I am loving it!

Now, Im a 40k ork player and have to say that im am not too keen on the orc models for the team. Is there a new orc team I can get my hands on? or is it best that I convert my own? If so, any advice?

Site looks great, I hope to learn alot from you guys :D

If you're talking about the current metal figs and/or the plastics that come in the box, then they are the newest ones.

However, there are plenty of alternatives.

As you say, convert (the plastic WFB Orcs/40k Orks can make some great teams).
Check eBay for 2nd edition BB Orc figs (if they're to your liking).
If you don't have to have official GW models, depending on your tastes there's the Shadowforge (female) Orc team or the Neomics Orc team.

Wait till you see the toilet.

Welcome aboard. And for the minis just look under the mini section. There are some painted modells wich rock the house. Not from me though. My dwarfs look like they have been played with too long. :P

I am just assuming you allready have humans and orcs (if not humans are perfect). So another good team would be amazons, or norse. But the all play a bit like humans.

I you want something different try Undead. Or one of the elf teams.

Well, Humans and Orcs tend to be fairly forgiving, and good to learn with as they can do a bit of everything. Some of the other teams are more specialized, so they can be harder to use.

If you have the box set, try playing a few games with the Orcs and Humans in the box. You can also make-believe that they are other races to try them out.

FUMBBL (fumbbl.com) is an online version of BB that can be used to try teams if you don't have any opponents available. But if you have a mate that you can play against tabletop, it's much better.

Don't forget to go get the latest version of the rules at www.specialist-games.com

Once you get a feel for the dynamics of the game, you'll be able to see if you prefer the bash style or the finess style, or both. Then you can decide if you want to compete to win or just have fun. In some threads on TBB, some have split the teams in 3 tiers based on how good the team list is.

Then pick a team accordingly.

And make sure you have fun.

Thanks for the advice guys :)

I have the box set and have played circa 10 games. And am undecided who i prefer (its edging towards Humans though)

Am I right in saying that I can have an Orge in my team to add some mussle? (sorry if these are all silly questions)

The Humans can take an Ogre. The Orcs can take a Troll. There are also Minotaurs, Rat Ogres, Kroxigors and Treemen available to other teams. Not all teams can have a Big Guy though.

They are unreliable though. BoneHead on the Ogre can really cause you some problems. Some like them, so don't.

Take a look at the Tactics and Team Development forum. You should find many discussions regarding the use of Big Guys in teams.

I use mine as janitors, which is why my pitch hasn't been cleaned in weeks. The Trolls and Beast of Nurgle are next to each other and keep failing their RS rolls.
