Hi, i should probly know this by now, but i'm not quite grasping it,
~~~~~~
~~~DX~
~~~OA~
~~~OX~
~~~~~~
Ok,
A= attacker, D= Defender, O= Defender's Assists, X= Attacker's Assist,
A is attacking D, i'll say they have = str for 1 dice,
O next to A helps the defender, X next to D helps the attacker,
Since the Bottom O and X assists are not touching the Defender, are they assisting either side at all?
btw- Tell me if my question isn't clear
as both of the O players and both the X players are in eachothers' Tackle Zones none would give an assist.
If any of these players have Guard everything would change ..
Now what if the Bottom O wasn't there but the X was? would the bottom X assist?
cancelling the O next to the Attacker, making the X next to the Defender add an assist, thus giving 2 dice?
no.
To give an offensive assist the player must be next to the player that is going to be blocked and NOT in a TZ.
To give a defensive assist the player must be next to the attacker and NOT in a TZ.
The only way the attacker would get an assist is if the Defender's teammate right below him wasn't there, then it would be:
DX
~A
OX
The only way you get an assist is if the person assisting is A) Touching the opposing player being blocked, B) Is not in the TZ of any other player on the defending. and C) Standing. See pg. 21 of the LRB for further info.
Now, if the bottom O wasn't there, but the X was and he had guard,
would he cancel out the O next to the Attacker?
he cancels out that assist wether he has Guard or Not.
Thanx guys, you cleared it up, one last stupid question though
~~~~~
~~D~~
~~A~~
~O~O~
~~X~~
~~~~~
The Two O's will be assisting the defender here, Does the X cancel both O's, or only one?
Right from the LRB pg 21.
1. Must be Adjacent to the enemy player involved in the block, and...
2. Must not be in the TZ of any other player from the opposing team, and..
3. Must be standing.
Therefore, no neither person gets to assist since they fail to meet the second criteria.
