Who Calls Dodge?

Who has responsibility for remembering that a player must dodge? Is it the coach that moves out of a tackle zone or the opponent?

This can create a problem if it is up to the coach making the dodge roll as he could just forget and move for free out of a tackle zone. Alternatively, the opponent might not realise in time to call it.

Any help would be appreciated as I can't resolve it. Not everyone has the ability to watch the field like a hawk to check tackle zones all the time.

Well, i don't think someone has a 'responsability' to call it, just the two of them should play accordingly to the rules.

So, if the player forgets to dodge, and the opponent points it, there is no further problem. Just roll it. It's just a matter of fair and fun play.

Its both coaches responsibility to ensure that the rules are obeyed.

Normally if you forget and can take the move back, then do so and make the roll at the appropriate place.

Just play a few more games. After a while you will get used to it and you won't forget to roll the dodges.

If you worry about your opponent trying to get away with free dodges, then perhaps you shouldn't be playing with them.

Or turn it back in his face and make him use the 4 minute rule, no take back moves, call IP's ectect till he quits lol
