Halflings
I'm putting this in here as I am indeed a noob and this is indeed most likely a silly question, but I want to ask it so hopefuly someone will let me know just how silly it is..
I'm entering a Halfling team into a BB league, it's been running a while and consists of a few divisions, newer teams start in the lower ones though there will be some more experienced teams in there it shouldn't be too bad tr wise.
Anyhow, the question is that given this league will be a long running thing and not a tournament as such is it a good idea to follow the advice I've seen regarding 12 flings, deeproot and 2 trees as a starting roster, or should i stick with 14 flings and 2 trees?
I just think that a single win which may come from the first of those two would not make up for the lack of players in the long run, but I am not the most experienced in terms of league play so please feel free to tell me otherwise.
Am I right? should I stick with what I had or is the hiring of deeproot a better option?

i think the deal with booting deeproot is it has 3 good effects
1. helps you win game one
2. Helps you Dominate (if the lil guys have such a thing) game one, leading to more spp's, leading to a better team
3. Drops your TR below 100, so you get extra cash after each game, to make up for the cost of freebooting the big tree.

A while ago I played against a halfling team which has 2 trees and Thrud.
And Thrud was the most annoying thing on the teams. So if you're allowed to choose him I would take him to my roster. With St6 and and all his other skills (especially Multiple Block and Break Tackle) he would be a great help for your flings. Also his mibility will help you more than a St7 player with MA3.

the goof thing about taking deeproot is that you are guarenteed of starting the game with at least one out of three trees. something i didn't do at a tournament where i took halflings was take deeproot and if you don't have a tree to soak up some of the pressure, the poor flings don't have a great day (getting squished is bad i've found out).
i would personally go with the freebooting if the league says you can.

Thanks for the advice, I just allways liked a full roster to start, lots of ablaitive halflings!
The league will be using the new on pitch take root rules so that's a definite bonus, though also means full lrb so no block as the first skill..
AS far as i'm aware freebooting is allowed, if I can, I will (though it means buying a new tree...)
Thanks again.
