I'll be pretty excited if it's even mediocre! :D

Orcs and humans included, other teams (Dwarves, Wood Elves, Skaven and Chaos) are an additional in-app purchase. Going to depend a lot on how they're pricing this.
That said, I've been saying for years they should ditch the fancy PC version and get a basic 2D tablet version out. I think pay per team is a good way to go if the pricing is right. Looks like they've actually gone for a fancy 3D tablet version, so lets hope performance and functionality are nailed.
Also, looks like the online version is cross platform, so you can play against anyone. Not clear if it'll be a single login, so you can use whichever device you have to hand. That would be pretty sweet.

Latest comment from one of the devs on the forum suggests that it's compatible with current online servers, i.e. CE. So basically there will be bugs in terms of rules implementation, but they should be ones we know about. Other bugs simply through poor coding TBC, ofc :D

The PSP version of the game kept me entertained for countless daily commutes. I'm sure this would do the same. I just need to get an iPad I guess...

I'm intrigued, but why now? If they are giving a facelift to the entire game this year, why do this now? At least with Civilization, Sid Meier was looking at different target audiences with their tablet implementation. You aren't going for different audiences on this one.

Probably because they already have a working (but still buggy) engine. All they need to do is split up for the in app purchases and try to make some extra money with "little" effort

Using the BB1 servers means that hopefully LE/CE should be safe for a while.

I very excited about this. 1.5 hour daily commute to work and back no longer a chore!

So... early July then. Looking forward to that.

Just 11 1/2 months left to wait...

Will be available tomorrow. (31/07/14)

Actually 'will' is a tad strong....maybe tomorrow. Or 5 months down the line. You know how these things go. But fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Apparently the Android version is available on Amazon right now. $4.99. No word on DLC prices.

Downloaded and played a single-player match. Same game as on PC, basically. Extra DLC teams are $2.99(!) each, which is *way* too much, as the base game is $4.99.

Also logged in with my main account and was only able to select my open league Human and Orc teams to play -- no private leagues. Even more frustrating was the inability to watch games that don't have races included in the game.

Overall, it's a good port (UI is intuitive) and happy with it, but it's too much cash for a base game *PLUS* DLC, when the PC game is (more) complete but cheaper.

If you want Blood Bowl on the go, it's likely worth the base game. Very good as a learning or teaching tool, imho, too.

The base game is cheaper than I expected but the races are more expensive. That said, to get the game and the first four races released you're looking at $17 - If they'd released it as a single game with six races for $20, I'd probably still have picked it up.
