yeah, i know, but it's the fashionable thing to do...

announcing the call for coaches for another pbem league: the lustrian premier league is moving out of my dining room and onto the internet... this means i need 11 more coaches to join up and help me make the most of all those really cool new additions to the client tom added in for me...

the intention is to run the league with both a league title (determined by points) and a league cup (played consecutively near the end of the season)...

all of this means blocking off about a full year for the league, and i'd like to stick with coaches who've proved that they can get games done closer to 3 weeks than not...

what makes the lpl different? venues, mostly. lpl games are played in 8 stadiums scattered around the new world, each stadium has its own unique kickoff and weather table... plus neato pitch images...

you also get me as commissioner, which is bound to result in something to write home about...

ok, who's interested (i mean with a sales pitch like that, who wouldn't be?)...

head on over to yahoo groups and look for lpl_list and join up... the files section contains the docs going over rules etc...

you can also view the league rules page at

http://web.tampabay.rr.com/phio/index.html

4 coaches on board, 8 to go...

I did a search for lpl_list (and just lpl and lustrian) on Yahoo Groups, and nothing shows up. :(

well, i'm starting to get confused between people's tbb id's, their email names, and their yahoo names as people try to join up in various fashions...

right now it looks like we're getting prety close to 12, so everyone please stop by http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lpl_list/ and sign yourself up if you havn't already done so (or, in the case of galak and dave a., i put you in directly)... that way i'll be able to stop trying to sort out who is who...

...if there's enough interest to get 16 or 24 coaches, we can do a 2-division league... so keep on coming...

as for htmls, you can start cobbling your teams together whenever you feel like it... i'd like to start about a week after we get all the faces in the races... i'll make sure the league client package is available soon (there's a version in the group file archive, but i need to review the ini's to make sure it's really ready to go)... still, you might want to download the stadium files sooner than later and get a feel for that, since it's the most deviant aspect of the league...

as for me, i'm playing chaos halflings... (yum! yum! yum!)

If you had two divisions, how would they relate? (I always wondered about running a league with lots of divisions and promotion/relegation similar to the English Football League, but decided I just didn't have time to run the thing.)

If it wouldn't be too boring ( ) to have yet another league featuring myself in addition to DW, McDeth, Galak, et al., I'd be interested in joining, and this time I wouldn't run elves!

Cheers,
Martyn
