BB World Cup Poll

Post by Valen »

Okay guys how do you want the group stages to be doen.

two options

1 = Go for two groups of 5 and play everyone in your group once, play all games at once and then have a skill progression for the semi finals (aka Gore Grail Method)

2 = Two groups of 5 again and play everyone in the opposing group in 5 set rounds having a skill progression after each round (aka Eurobowl)

The second one will take alot longer, but has a biot more of a eurobowl style, which is waht I was after really.

Voted Gore Grail because PBeM tournaments tend to drag out forever, so anything that speeds up the process is good. I'd prefer the EuroBowl system in terms of enjoyment, but worry that we'd never get it finished. :D

Voted Eurobowl

Isn't it possible to award the skills, as you play everybody in a fixed schedule, so we can play the games simultaneously but with differently advanced teams?

That is also a possibility, to have Eurobowl, but play them all at once as you know how many skills you must have had by that game

I voted Eurobowl up top. But was meaning with this change...

In order of ranked preference.

Eurobowl with multiple games at once.
Gore Grail (multiple games at once)
Eurobowl - single games at a time.

I love BB and tourneys.... But that would be a really long time for stuff to happen and get in the way...playing 1 match at a time.

I am thinking having the set format with 5 games being played in order for the skill progression, but as injuries and so on are not carrying forward then we can play them all at once.

Most of all because in a group of 5 you only get to play 4 matches!

No, you will play the 5 teams from the other group, as if we had groups of five for instance

Round 1

1 v 2
3 v 4

Round 2

1 v 5
2 v 3

Hence Team 5 will have no skills but team 1 will have one skill or they will both have a skill but Team 5 have not played a game.

So we need to have the 2 groups of 5 play each other and then either the top 4 qualify for the semis of the top two from each group.

Ah, I did not know that was allready decided! I thought we would play the 4 others in our group. so now it's the 5 teams from the other group! How confusing!

Well as you can see, if we played the four teams in our group then the skill progression would get a little confusing, we would either have team with one skill playing teams with none or have teams who havent played a game already having a skill

Just pm me or e-mail me with the instructions when it's decided. I'll play any format as long as I'm told what it is. :D
