All of this said...it will make NO difference, because the dice rolls are pre-made. He could go back, say blitz between actions, and he'd still get the same dice rolls, leading to a TD, making the whole thing moot.

At least, thats mu understanding of hoe the PBeM tool works. This is one of those things that happens using PBeM.

Which is why he should not overwrite the file by "rewinding" per se, but rather reset the players to their original positions (manually and without rewinding) and then play the turn again.

Yes, they are preset, but there will be a difference, because he will have to make more actions than first planned and so use the dice rolls in a different way. The result in the end might be the same, but if the were makes a one die block and gets the skull.....

Nazgit is right, better to avoid that and replace the players back and then go on. Nobody knows what diceset will apear then.

Been out all day so just back. Thing is there is no button to declare a blitz, thats the problem with PBEM, Fumbbl has a blitz button, and obviously in live games you can declare the blitz by word of mouth. It always appears to me that blitzes are fairly obvious in PBEM and due to the format you roll with a few issues such as being unable to do things quite correctly.

In this set up there is no logigal sense in doing anything else but for my no 5 to blitz his no 1. the No 1 didn't have block or dodge therefore it was 83% in my favour that the guy was going down or being pushed behind the werewolf and only the blitz would allow me to assist. If I relied on just a block action with follow up this had a 50% failure chance the same as taking a chance on dodging with my no 6 to assist. Neither of these options is viable without a Re-Roll at a critical step. Without an assist on the Werewolf the odds of him escaping were too high and no one else in my team had any hope of playing a blitz action this turn.

The very fact that if I re-wound the game I would play the turn exalty the same (appart from typing up 'blitz' in the white box) is silly and is really frustrating after played a very good finishing move to the game and winning fair & square.

In my mind this is just sour grapes from Torsten after losing, which as I have said repeatedly is dissapointing after a fairly vibrant and friendly game!

Anyway I am not going to go around in circles here and getting a bit deflated. I think I won, Torsten thinks I should play it over again although I am going to make exactly the same moves if I do.

As its Valens tournament and he is acting 'head judge' I am putting this is his hands and will abide by his call on this!!

I dunno. I think it's you. The game I played against you had the same sort of bad feeling to it too. Even with my coaching you in PBeM ettiquette you still did things your own way. I got used to it and overlooked a few faux pas if I remember right, but I don't think I'd ever accept another match from you. You just weren't fun to play against.

Oh, and I won that game too.

Tritex, what is the difference in "there is no blitzbutton" (there is but it's not functional) and typing blitz in the line as everybody who is playing Pbem, knows he has to do. Same goes for "Pass". No button that works yet, but it is common knowledge that it has to be typed in textbox, before you make the pass.

Now imagine playing Ogres! You would have had a worse discussion in that case. You have to declare the blitz even before you press the player that blitzes. If he bone heads (rolls made automatically) the blitz is lost.

But I agree Valen will have to decide!

I go away for the weekend and all hell breaks loose.

I have read through the issue, and sorry Tritek you will need to rewind the log to before you made that block and declare it. Now once you delete the log to type blitz the rolls will change so that blitx may not be both down, I think that is how it works.

This will give the same result Valen, the dice rolls will all be the same! It would be better to have the players replaced to the starting position before the block/blitz made. A new set of dice will then be used.

Can I draw a line & move on now as this is fast becoming no fun? Thanks

The dice set is prefixed for every game. If you rewind the file over and over again you will get the same dice rolls over and over again. (try it) That's why there is also a tool that can detect rewinding/reloading, so you can find out if somebody is cheating. tom has it and I think Mad Jackal and Mepmuff too.

correct me if I am wrong but every time you re-wind or re-load the log qutes re-load #1/ reload#2/reload#3 so this is fairly obvious! can we move on now then?

And do you also get the same dice rolls over and over again?, because that is the issue here.

Well the turn played out the same but there was a risk on the rewind that it wouldn't but I played it as requested by Valen! It paid off and I still won. Just trying to move on here can I now register my win?
