Tips for Orc team against Norse?
I am playing in a league with Orc team. Roster is currently after one match:
3 x Lineorcs
1 x Gobbo (now with 3 SPP)
1 x Thrower
2 x Black Orcs (1 is missing a game due to Broken Jaw)
4 x Blitzers (1 gained a skill with 8 SPP - Havent taken it yet)
I am playing against a Norse team. The Norse have 1 mino with Piling On. How should I try to contain that beast so it doesn't cripple my team?
Any suggestions as a good first skill to Orc blitzer? Possibly Tackle or Mighty Blow?
Then I have an upcoming match against Chaos team with:
1 x Mino
2 x Warriors
9 x Beastmen
Any tips for that match?

Pretty much agree with Ian - use your higher av to win a fight. Ensure you know where the Mino and Norse blitzers are since you don't want to leave your players near a side-line since you will soon find your players pushed into the crowd.
As for the skill - take strip ball, MB or guard (tackle is good too but won't help any in your next 2 games).
As for your game against Chaos - pretty much the same - you have higher av and Block - however, be wary of horns so keep your gobbo and thrower out of their way. Match up you BoBs with the warriors and let them play their own game. If you can keep the Warriors occupied you have a much better team when it comes to fighting.

One thing you could try, especially if the Minotaur does not have Block yet;
If the minotaur is fairly isolated after his first turn, put 4 tackle zones on him with your Blitzers and/or linemen --- When its his turn he will be forced to block one of the blitzers/linemen, 2 dice ---- you choose. He has to do it first thing as he's a wild animal, he cant re-roll the block dice as he is a Big Guy.
2 coaches in my League have tried to do this to the minotaur in my Chaos Pact team ---- with some success too ;-(
The problem with it is that when it doesnt work, (usually double-pushbacks
on the first, then the 2nd Block is one dice only) you have commited players that could have been making the cage stronger (I play Orcs as well).
When it does work, his turns will become very short......
sangraal
P.S. One guy I played against just ignored the Minotaur ---- & of course
the minotaur rolled double skulls twice in a row.....

I have found that most of my troubles playing against a Norse team (with my orcs) comes from intimidation factor a team full of the block skill...of course you have to keep an eye out for his position players and fairly quick scores from well placed catchers...BUT that is the same when playing defense against anyone...like many of the previous posts, you have to 'keep the heat on' his players...don't be afraid to knock em down! I'll say my orc team is much more focused on offence and scoring than most...but if I try to play too pretty I find the Norse just let me have it! If you can get one or two of his players off the pitch it will be much easier to make 2dice blocks and help neutralize the block skill. You've got a few black orcs to lay down punishment as well, so that should help. The blitzers will most likely be your work horses for the game...adding assists and moving just a step quicker than most of the players on the field. Jus rememburs dat' even doh 'da 'oomans got doze pritty beerds...Dere no match fer da bottoms of yer bootz!

Thanks for all the tips! I just played the match against the Norse team and won 2-0, woohoo!
I managed to keep the mino in order with a lot of assisting. Got the mino to fall several times but could not get through its thick skin (or skull). Another of my blockers got a SI as well... My gobbo got one TD and blitzer got another by just utilizing the holes in his defence. I could not get a single casualty in the game but kept the ball moving and got the vital TDs. Tomorrow is the cruel game against "Maggot Colony", the Chaos team. Then I will go against a Chaos Dwarf team. Let's see how it goes...
