Reboot High Elves?

I have just played my first game with High Elves.
My roster:
2 catchers
2 throwers
7 linemen
2 RR
7 FF
I played against a more experienced Wood Elf team and got an extra handicap MVP and a sponsorship deal.
I scored rather easily on my first turn, but that took up all of my luck. My opponent started to systematically break my armor and it did not take long to put four players into Dead and Injured, while more players were stunned. Also, I ended al my turns with '1' and skull. Trying to stop an AG5 Wardancer without tackle players proved impossible.
With 71000 people in the audience I also managed to throw a 1 for winnings. The MVP went to one of my catchers who already had the handicap MVP and a touchdown

.
I will be missing two players for the next game because of SI ( a thrower with a nig and a lineman with MA-).
I think that I should just restart with a rookie team.

League setup I'd go with
2 Dragon
1 Phoneix
8 Line
2 TRR
6 FF
Maybe swap the Phoneix for a Line elf and extra point of FF.
Buy the apoth 1st, followed by Lions and a couple more TRR.
That way your whole starting team is Av8 and will get reasonable well developed before the Lions join in and start hogging all the TDs.
Its a slow starting team, but with a bit of luck you can still win early on, and once it gets motoring you've got a very balanced squad.

I would agree - you need to restart the team!
I would also say an apoth should be your 1st purchase!
Lion warriors in starting elf league teams are a bit fragile - and will get ALL the SPPs
Question - why do people start with 2 throwers???

Yes, they are fragile, but they can also get block and dodge fast by scoring touchdowns. A strength 3 movement 8 player is too good, in my opinion, not to take from the beginning.
I almost never start with two throwers, but now it was the choice between an extra FF, which I did not really need or already having the second thrower. If I continue with this team, I should be glad that I took her, because the first already got a MNG and a nig.

We've got a system, that if a team get's bashed up to much, he's allowed to play my halfings to recover. They always forget the treeman and are very sorry after doing so!
But what I really mean to say. If you've got no dead, play a friendly match, you're players will be back at full strengh for the next game, and you keep the SPP's allready earned!
My chaos team started of just like you'rs. Two dead and one SI. Next game played against Welfs. Coach was a gentlewoman and didn't foul once. (No treeman yet) Got some money and bought back a oplayer, and so on. Now it's one of the strongest in the League!

Of course that won't work in OUR league as there are no friendlies!
My norse team - in their first game, had a blitzer killed and only got an MVP - then were robbed (we use cards)
I rebooted that team!
Deaths I think are the main reason to restart

My lizardmen team suffered two casualties in the first two games (one of those was a saurus in turn one of the first game), but it has slowly recovered since then.
My elf team is just for games outside the league, so I don't have to worry about points etc.
Rebooting it seems prudent because several factors add up:
-poor SPP distribution
-permanent damage to players
-very poor winnings

Struggle to survive....
Norse killed 4 skaven in one match once (against Bluedevil) and I decimated a woodelfteam (Gorbad) back to 9 players. They both sticked to their teams and were able to recover.....
Lucy
p.s I myself have a norse team with 12 players, 3 have NI's and two have AV 6. But I'm struggling to get them back on track.

As I said, bringing my lizzies back on track for the league was a nice challenge, but this team is not a league team.
(Ah, I still remember the game in which I turned a 13 player woodelf team back to 9 without really trying. I was a bit embarassed afterwards, actually)

Make it survive!
When i first played BB, i started with a HE team.
And got 4 dead after the first game.
I learned to play with 7 elves and spp where only for those 7.
they did quite well, and you learn a lot about HE tactic.
Your starting roster wasnt rthe best one IMHO.

Hi folks,
what team do you think is better: High Elves, or Wood Elves?
High Elves have higher AV, with no access to big guys, but WEs move faster, have access to Treeman and, of course, the wardancers.

This is not the question here. And both are great but you dont play them in the same way.

Skip the Phoenix. Use your lineelves to pass the ball, and spread out your SPP to get some on all your linos.
I'd choose one DW and one LW, and stack up on FF.
