Big Guy in the Cage

Post by Mortalman »

hi

is it worth using a Big Guy as part of Da Cage? On the one hand he's a nice big lump which who's hard to block out of the way, can usually make blocks unassisted and doesn't easily injure. On the other with bonehead/really stupid it seems risky that if you try an action you may open the way for your opponent by losing your tackle zone!

This has been spawned because a BO of mine has guard, so when I'm on offence and my opponents put three gimmer linemen on the LOS I'm tempted to put him and two linemen to beat the hell outa them, and save my harder players for the cage. Problem is that means the Ogre's usual place is usurped and I'm not sure I trust him in da cage...

Move him down with the cage gut off to the side. He will take up space over there and can help break a hole off to the side a bit and you can move the cage off to the side as well as forward down the pitch.

You can always have him near the cage, or part of a larger cage so that if he does go all bone headed on you its not the end of the world.
If you send your cage down one side of the field then having himbetween the cage and the opposition will help alot, as even if he doesn't move he will be in the way

People tend to stay away from Piling On big guys, and they can be a very effective way to keep a corner of your cage open.
