MA on orc thrower: take or pass?

Hi guys, fairly new Orc team (4 gms in) and the thrower rolled 6-4 on his first skill roll.

I take the MA or pass?

I was thinking on taking it, transforming it in an extra «blitzer» (taking Block as next skill), and buying a 2nd thrower now to throw balls when needed.

If I pass, I'd go for Block right away.

A little background: we play our teams until they are well developped (240 TV+), so I will have 2 throwers at some point, now is just sooner than I thought.

Take it. Faster ball carrier is always a good thing.

I say take it as it will actually make the thrower useful, get block on his next normal skill and you have a decent ball carrier with the option of throwing if the running game is letting you down.

I don't think a 2nd thrower is worth it though.

Where else would spend the TV on then Spubbba? Cause seriously, this is a cruel league: plenty of MB-POn (some Claws even added to that on a few players), a lot of fouling... Really a grueling league to play in. So although I admit that second thrower wouldn't see as much playing time, it is a good insurance policy.

For the sake of discussion, here's the rest of the team:

Blitzers:
ST4+Mblow
MBlow (15 SPP)
MA7 and one skillless

Black Orcs:
Only one got a skill so far (Block)

Got two linemen, one troll and a goblin, all without skills. 4 RR, Apo, but no coaching staff. TV actually at 156 (we started at 130).

Linemen over the 2nd thrower - if you're facing a lot of Pomb the better AV will help.

Yeah take the +MA, best thing you can have for a ball carrier. Forget about getting a second thrower.

Take +MA, fire the second Thrower, drop 1 reroll (Orcs are fine with 3 rerolls, or 2 rerolls + leader on Thrower).
.

+MV on the thrower, and I agree with Darkson on the second thrower.
If you're worried about the thrower going 'pop', your best choice as backup is probably surehands on the MV7 blitzer at some point.

Take the +MV

For an overall orc build I like:

1 TH
4 BZ
4 BoB
1 Troll
2 LN
1 Gob

If you protect the thrower correctly you won't need a second one who will just be bloat.

The goblin is good for TTM and fouling.

Yeah, i'd go for that too. Maybe add a 3rd lino if you are regularly running out of players every game. But with all that ST, guard access and AV that shouldn't be too common.

I'd take the movement, but I'd also recommend NOT taking pass...ever. It's relatively useless on an Orc team.

The thrower comes with pass. :D

I presume the OP was asking should I take the movement or "pass on taking the movement"

Take the +MA. It is excellent on an Orc Thrower.

Another vote for +MA. And for 1 Thrower, but I've made it work with 2.

:o HOLY CRAP! I actually had to go look that up. It's so incredibly useless on an Orc thrower I completely forgot it was even feasible to be a starting skill. I'd actually trade it for Kick off Return or kick given the option.
