Looks like I am going to manage to finish my team and so will play my first ever gobbo team at the NAF. I am thinking

both trolls, all weapons pogo and 7 gobbos + fungus the loon =14 playas
3 re rolls and 2 bribes
Grab on one troll, strong arm on the other and MB on the fanatic day one
HMP on the bomber and DTx2 on gobbo's day 2
Alternatively BT on both trolls just for shitngiggles.

Thoughts?

No doubt better gobbo coaches than I will chime in, however....

I never put strong arm on a troll, the actual throwing part of TTM is not the worst bit...getting there (getting the ball to the correct gobbo/stupid/hungry) and afterwards ( landing) are the problem, some people do well with pile on on thier trolls, I generally stick to guards or occasionally grab ( to set up hits for the fanatic, even if the opposing player is prone).

Either way, enjoy the madness that is goblins..... :smoking:

I also appear to be in the minority, but I dont like the bommer at all, let alone with HMP.

the ONLY time I like the bomber is with HMP...

IIRc Itchen (who's an excellent Goblin coach) doesn't bother with the bomber much..

No to strong arm then. But no love for BT? I know its 2x2 in order to get away but it could stop being pinned?
If I was to drop the bomber is it replaced by a gobbo. Wanted it for day 2 really.

You don't play Goblins for the SAFETY you play them for the madness!

The Bomber is worth it for the HMP! This rule set is hard on them with so few skills allowed but if you are saving the Day 2 double, HMP is worth it!

Pile On for the Trolls is high risk/high reward in a league but it is all risk in a tournament. You could go Break Tackle on one if you don't mind the Loner risk but the other I would leave blank. The other two skills could be a Sneaky Git Goblin and Sure Feet on the Pogoer for example. Mighty Blow in the Fanatic is fun as well!

I personally do not like Fungus since Loner really hurts the Fanatic. You think you'll get 3DBs all the time but he will swing into a 2d ASAP and block himself down. If you want a star for another SW, take the Chainsaw!

I'd drop one bribe and try for a 4th Reroll but I know that is not always possible. You could also drop the Star for another Goblin and more bribes. Keep the rostered SWs around longer and FOUL FOUL FOUL!

Troll x2 - 220k (220k)
Fanatic - 70k (290k)
Looney - 40k (330k)
Bomber - 40k (370k)
Goblins x9 - 360k (730k)
Rerolls x4 - 240k (970k)
Bribes x2 - 100k (1.07m)

30k for Cheerleaders, Coaches, FF?

BT on a troll (or both) is always good, as is dodge on the chainsaw, HMP on the bombardier and MB on the fanatic.

Good luck!

Geggster doesn't use the bomber either.

IMO there are two optimal ways to play Goblins : take both Fanatics and as many bribes as you can; or take Ripper and minimise the toys.

Gobbos without weapons feels like caffeine free coffee. I kinda don't see the point

The look on Farina or Podfrey's face when they are losing with Dwarfs.

Bomber with HMP is great! But Pass actually works well too! Anyway, if you're playing Goblins you should do it for the Lolz, not the optimalization! :smoking:

there is only one skill to give to your Troll. Pro (enough said)
If you take a bomber take HMP
I personally think the Pogo is a waste of time and money in a tourney (maybe I need to learn how to utilize him better
You must give a goblin Kick
go for 16 players if possible as you will have fouls you must make and ending the game with over 7 players is a reward in itself.
I do not go reroll deep as I usually fail a skill roll.

Have to say that I despise the Bomber, with or without Hail Mary. That little fecker never gets on the team!

Used to play Ripper as he's a thing of beauty, but sadly also too expensive to quite squeeze into the team at most tourneys :-(
Personally I go for 2 Ball n Chains on offence, the Leap Chainsaw on defence.

As for the trolls, I give them both guard. Dont like Break Tackle as you need a couple of 2+ before even getting to roll block dice.
Strong Arm is a waste imho as it's normally just a 3+ to get the gobbo in the air (after the other rolls that Strong Arm wouldnt affect)
If you think you'll be throwing a lot of Gobs, maybe Ripper is the way forward after all. Without Stupid or Hungry he makes a surpringly good quarterback!
