Alternate Wood Elf line-up
Has anyone tried this? good/bad?
1 Wardancer
1 Treeman
8 Line-elves
3 RR
FF 6
.. idea is to have a tree from the beginning to take some pressure of the line-elves - AND - still being able to score and hunt down the enemy ball carrier using the WD...
also... 3 RR should be enough in the long haul....

People would just throw some expendable linemens infront of you tree and then avoid it for the rest of the dirve, leaving you with very few elves to cover the rest of the field, and double so since WE doesn't last that long on the field(just played a second half vs a undead team with only 4 players...), save the tree for later if you really feel yuo need him. The we lineelf isn'tworse than other linemen('cept for the lower AV ofcause) on the LoS so imho a Tree is a waste of money, atleast this early. Just focus on scoring insted.

I have a Wood Elf team of about 165 TR and I considered starting with a treemen but then chose not too. It is much better to take more linemen in the beginning, on average I suffer 3-4 CA per game. Leaves me with few players on the field in the second half. Your going to need the meat shields on the LOS so you don't have to put someone more useful.
Last game I played, I had 6 players starting the second half and had to place my thrower on the LOS. I still won 5-1, and that is what really counts.

I normally one of the use the following lineups when starting a wood elf team:
1 Wardancer
1 Thrower
1 Catcher
7 Lineelves
1 Treeman
9 Fan Factor
This one gives you no reroll (sure something goes wrong, but play wood elves right and it doesn't spell disaster. Looking at the lineup you notice that you have personal rerolls for every thing that matters) but gives yoy a solid team on which to build. A treeman greatly improves you LOS and brings down casualties. Always start with one.
Or this one:
1 Wardancer
1 Catcher
8 Lineelves
1 Treeman
1 Reroll
7 Fan Factor
This gives you a safety reroll, but no thrower. However instead you use different lineelves all the time getting them that 1 SPP so they get a skill with a MVP.

I'm tempted by the idea so long as I can start with 12 players and/or an apoth. Then I spend all my income on buying rerolls, it helps keep the TR down and the income up. Maybe I'll try that in the next league team I start up.

Grumbles WE lineup
How would you suggest starting a WE team with 2 RR and the almost required 9FF to offset your casualties and still field a team? I really like WE's and need some good advice!
