My humans against an experienced dwaven team

Hi

I start a new human team this league and draw my first match against a good chaos team.
Now a good dwarven team waits for me, ready to grind me into the dust.
My roster:

4 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
4 Lineman, one with block
1 Ogre

1 RR
6 FF
Apothecary

The dwarves devasteted a skaven rookie team in their first match ( 8 - 0 cas.)

What can I do to prevent these from me?

:-?

Seems to be a frighteningly large number of coaches posting the the tactics forum with only 1 reroll :o I generally go 3 or 4 on a team myself.

As for tactics: Fast and loose, keep the game spread out and open. Put the reciever under strong backfield pressure with your blitzers and catchers off the kick (should have got kick on that lineman, not block, but hey) Dwarves will win when they play tight and slow, you want to force the game play the other way - spread out, and keep his players spread out and isolated.

i don't need much RR with this team, i have sure hands, pass, catch and dodge.

but i need some really good advice to prevent damage from my blitzers and catchers.
I know i have the speed to outdistance the dwarves but this dwarves have mighty blow (5 times), multiple block and strip ball. I think there are nearly no chances to win. I don't play to win, i play to survive and I hope to get a draw. Like my match against a good develped chaos team.

A way of thinking that fails you. Don't rely simply on your position players. And remember that you need rerolls for the important blocks and blitzes too. And whenever you don't have a positional player available for a task.

I think there are nearly no chances to win. I don't play to win, i play to survive and I hope to get a draw.
Nah, you should always play to win. As Marcus said above, try to use the weaknesses of the dwarves to your advantage. Force him to spread out, kick his AG3 players, stay away from them, make them advance so slow that they'll get desperate and try something foolish etc. etc.
You should find several elaborate instructions on this matter from this forum.

The strength of humans is thier versatility. They can adapt and play tough against agility teams while using their skills against strength teams. That said, you will have a tough time playing a passing game against the Dwarves becasue of your lack of rerolls. I would highly suggest you try to use your movement to your advantage as much as you can, and remember that those Longbeards have tackle, so keep your catchers away from them.

Yeah right,

I think my movement will be the best advantage.
I hate to play passing game with humans, I only bought the thrower because he has the sure hands skill. I hope the catchers and blitzer move deep in the dwarven field and put some pressure on the dwarven runner.

Well, you have to play with the cards you're dealt. Try to save the reroll for defensive purposes, and don't scrum with him if you can help it at all.

I thank for the advises. Now I have a plan and I'm not hopless.
A little luck and I have a chance.
I play my match tomorow.

The movement of Dwarves makes it easy to shut down scoring drives, try getting in the way a square or two away from his cage so he can't get downfield and put pressure on his ball carrier players as mentioned before. I think you have a great chance at winning this game... good luck!

Hope I'm not too late to offer some advice, but I wanted to point out something with your catchers. Even if you are reluctant to play a passing game (not sure why, since in most cases even starting human teams can play a good passing game), moving your catchers downfield will take pressure off your frontline.

If you put no-one downfield, it will allow the opposing coach to bring more of his players up to attack your ball carrier, and anyone protecting him. Having your catchers downfield forces your opponent to drop players back, especially with dwarves, since they can't easily scramble to get back in defence.

It is a little risky, since your catchers will probably end up without protection, and have low ST and AV, but IMHO worth the risk if it means less pressure on your ball carrier.

Thanks for the good advices.
I won my match 2-0 and also get 2 - 0 Cas for me.
Next question:
One of my catchers gains two levels,
the first was a normal skill, he gains block
the second was a double,
he gains dauntless?

what would you suggest

I'd suggest Nerves of Steel.
