Ogre...

Now, most people are gonna expect me to say 'Blocker' or 'Blitzer', perhaps even 'Useless great lump'...

But Gasoline is fast becoming the best thrower(!) in my league!

MA 5
ST 5
AG 3
AV 9

With Bonehead, Strong arm, an AG upgrade and Sure Hands, I have been exceedingly lucky with my rolls!

Starting off as a regular ogre, I stuck him in the front line. Then, a couple of games into the league, he managed to make two completions, just enough to push him into his first skill. Laughing about this, I then proceeded to roll a double on his upgrade. 'Hmm...' I thought. Just as a joke, really, I gave him Strong Arm.

The next game, he made another two completions... One at long bomb...
And in the next game...
Not only that, he got an MVP and two casualties...

Seven games later, and Gasoline's fast becoming the most frustrating backfield player for the opposition in my team. His S of 5 ensures that he's pretty likely to stay up against anything that my opponent can throw against him, and that means I have an extra turn or two to break into his backfield. A regular human thrower would be sacked almost immediately, but Gasoline just won't go down! I'm extremely proud of ol' Gasoline, and I'm gonna have to upgrade his model when the new Ogres come out!

(As an aside, I experimented with training up Diesel, the team's other Ogre, as a catcher. Needless to say, Diesel now works on the line of scrimmage... )

Are you playing LRB? If so, Strong Arm's a passing trait, so no access for Ogres. I'd replace it with Accurate.

Very cool Player you have CplSaint ...

Such things make Bloodbowl worth playing. (beside the Pop-Khorne of course).

Way to go :)

:x Ogres are throwers.
Keep the ball, run and hit.
:pissed: Ogres play like that.

Yeah, I'm now playing with LRB, but Gasoline was from 'tha Old Skool' ;)
No-one minds around here (everyone's quite fond of the little bugger) but I am tempted to address the problem and replace the skill with Hail Mary Pass. It seems quite fitting for an Ogre to be able to absolutely launch the ball but have no idea where it's gonna land!

That is... unless HMP is also a trait(?).

The LRB is down at the mo, so I can't check myself. *Sigh*

Brawlette's Team Chant

'Go go Gasoline!
Brawler's greatest launch machine!
Go go Gasoline!
If you can't then... hit 'em!'

thought so but not listed above.

thought if the player was from the last set of rules it may not have it

also if the team is one of the ones that has no access to big guys then it is null and void.

One of my ogre has Break Tackle and Sure Hands. It's very funny to dodge with an ogre.

With break tackle, you're not really dodging, actually stiff-arming the tackler out of the way.

Ok but it is still fun :)

Of course, what could be more fun than having an ogre with the ball charge through a line of puny little ______. (fill in the blank).
