Very entertaining and educating thread.
However, i'd like to add one more point that hasn't been said:
No matter how good your strategy is or how well you do things, you can always lose against the most incompetent player if Nuffle decides it to be so.
If your opponent rolls an average 10 on armour roll, always POWs you and you roll 70% of all dices to 1 and Skull, you won't stand a chance. Actually a few bad early turns can ruin your game (my record was having 5 players injured -BH and worse- in the first 2 turns).
Unlike Chess or other truely strategic games without a random element, Blood Bowl is a highly random game. All you can do is try to get the best under the given circumstances, but sometimes (not always) this won't be enough to win.
I'm not saying that a good coach can't overcome bad luck to win against another coach, but we all know that there are games that just suck. If both coaches are playing on the same level, often luck is THE game winning factor.
