Just one for me to add:

Norse Blitzer

Double: Stand Firm or Side Step

I like your ideas, as an elf player i tend to give my players dodge before block as it helps with the step away defence and offenceive plays, allowing you to score with lineman.

I did notice however that you stayed away from strip ball a little. Is this because too many players end up with sure hands?
Also i like to develop elf players with leap/strip ball/tackle to help bust open cages, doesn't always work but its an option

I have a few beefs about the Chaos choices.

Beastman
Normal: Block, Guard, Tackle
Doubles: Big Hand, Claw, Leader, Frenzy, Dauntless (the last two combine very well with horns) - Each double should be a different skill

Chaos Warriors
Normal: Piling On, Block, Guard, Mighty Blow (no need for tackle, you're not hunting down catchers)
Doubles: Stand Firm, Claw, Razor Sharp Claw, Tentacles

The all out Foul Appearance strategy is nice but I prefer killing the catcher and passer to stop the pass.

What about Goblins?!!?

Normal: Leap, Side Setp, Diving Tackle

On some (2,3,4): Catch

Double (spread among players): Hail Mary Pass, Guard, Pass

On BIG:

Normal: Block, PRO, Break Tackle

Double: Pass, NOS, Leader...

Hum.... I don't know exactly the order.... but I guess I covered the most obvious.... well, I hope!!

To get useful skills on Gobbos, you'd have to split them up into what you'd get them on an Orc team Goblin would get and what a Goblin team Goblin would get. They are going to be pretty different.

My Orc Gobbos would look something like: Catch, Sure Feet, Pro (Block for doubles.)

My Goblin team Gobbos would be the more varied ones on the list above, except that Sure Hands would be the preferred skill of choice on doubles.

To add to the Gutter Runner choices:

If you don't want a one turner or have one already -
Doubles: Dauntless, Horns (in that order)
Normal: Strip ball (with or without Dauntless).

I disagree strongly with the idea that the reason to play Skaven is to have one turners - Gutter Runners are second only to Wardancers as the best turnover specialists in the game, and you get four of them; use them. I rarely develop one turners and always get 80% or better win records with Skaven, just by using the Gutter Runners as turnover machines.

Black orc skills

Post by Blaccug Bonecracker »

I have played orcs a lot, and I think that Mighty Blow is, along with Block, the skill for Blockers. If you give them MB as their first skill, they will accumulate SPP much faster. Then their second skill should be Block. You will want to give one or two of them Block first, though.

This is a useful tactic with all strong, bashing players, who will not do much ballhandling.

Saurus Block or Break Tackle. Double Frenzy or Stand Firm.

Skink catch or sidestep. Block, Strip Ball or Sure Hands on double.

Krox Block. Leader on a double.

Grumbledook - good attempt at the Bible!

But I think any experienced coach could reasonably dispute some of the findings. Maybe you need a thread on each race to get a good debate going (serious suggestion)!

One interesting split in BB is between coaches who like to give their players of the same type the same skill(s) each, and coaches who like to diversify the skills early. I guess I am in the former camp. It's certainly easier to play that way!

Cheers
