Hi all,
it is not possible to use HMP on throw team mate, cause the rules for HMP are talking of passing the ball.

Is this correct? Do I read the rules correctly.

correct you can't

also the rules for ttm say you can't throw them at long bomb range so how you expect to hail mary them :p

the only passing skill to work with ttm is the pass skill

This is what i said but one coach said stunty players can not pass a ball to long bomb range but they are allowed to take HMP and pass the ball over the field. So this argument is not a good one.

ok he can argue against the long bomb point but he can't argue agaisnt the fact it says it can only be used when passing the ball

that's what i said, so i read the rules correctly and i can show him this post.

We've house ruled that you can, but the stunty is on -2 to land (so always on 6) and +2 on armour roll when they fail.

You can argue what you want, you can decide to house rule too but if you stick to the rule why would you want to do a hail mary pass if you cannot pass more than long bomb, it is logical you cannot. It is so logical that I think it is why it is not written precisely in the LRB:

you cannot throw a long bomb, therefore nor a HMP.

Anyway, HMP is for passing the ball, not stunty players.

So, I confirm (IMO) you can show him the post.

Also, we are talking about TTM here and it is not the same as throwing the ball by stunty players.

As to throwing the ball by stunty players, it is right (I think) that nothing is said they cannot throw HMP. But it is the same logic for me: if they cannot throw long bomb, they should not be able to throw HMP.

You cann't use HMP when TTM because TTM isn't a pass, even if it takes the Pass Action....

I really deslike these kind of rules: It isn't a Pass, but uses the Pass Action....

Like I said, I think nothing says they cannot but we (in my league) play they cannot (I hope it will be precised in the next LRB and confirmed) because it is so obvious that if they cannot throw long bombs they cannot HMP which is even longer (I do not think you want to use HMP and not use the pass range rule to pass an inaccurate pass quicker than long bomb instead of trying to make an accurate pass)

My theory... ... is that HMP can also be a kind of accurate kick.... so that wouldn't have any influence on the stunties....

Well, my theory is that HMP is not a kick in any way. If they had wanted to create a kick like that they would've simply done it or called HMP something different. It is a pass which represents an "Ave Maria" kinda like pass like they do in foot US when they are going to be sacked or they are very far from the end zone but only have one down left to try to score. They simply throw the ball very far and very high anywhere in the end zone or near to it and, hopefully, a player will catch it and, hopefully, it will be a player of their own team....

Stunties can HMP ... no question about it. The band penatly doesn't count since HMP specifically says it ignores the passing bands.
