Tricky TTM Query

Hi all,
I recently went back to coaching goblins. Ahhh - the sweet sensation, my first BB love.

However, I'd love to know how you would handle this situation:
I know that a failed landing roll is not a TO.
I also know that having your player knocked over (this includes collissions) is a TO.
Finally, fumbling a pass (even a TTM pass) is a TO.

However, what happens if you throw a player and he flies straight into the crowd?
I guess that the "fair" thing would be to award a TO, but as far as I can tell there is no rule stating that it is a TO.

Comments?
Martin :)

I would handle throwing a TTM-player off pitch as a failed landing = TO if he was holding the ball, no TO if he wasn't.

I would say TO as its no turnover if you fail landing roll without the ball but in the crowd he never made any landing roll so that rule does not apply.
But i won´t say for sure i am right.

So theoretically he never landed, right? You first roll for scatter for an inaccurate TTM and then for landing. If the player scatters into the crowd he never landed (and therefore never failed a landing also) or fell over. so why a TO?
What's the difference of failing a landing, failing the AV roll and getting killed to scattering into the crowd and getting killed?

Only if the thrown player had the ball.

I'd also say no TO without the ball and TO with the ball. I don't care how the gobbo got smashed, if it was by landing head first or landing on it's feet in the middle of the F-side of the opposing team. As long as he didn't have the ball, it's no problem.

Hi all,
Dave said (and others implied that):

Actually no.
This was cleared up recently by a BBRC member (Milo?) in another thread on this board. The TTM only state that failed landing rolls do not cause turn overs. If you do not even get a landing roll, then the basic rules apply.
This means that a fumble or a collission is a turnover!

The thing is that a "crowd crash" is not covered by either rule.
You do not get a landing roll (implies a TO) - yet none of the TO rules state that a straight injury roll is a TO.

Frankly, that sounds like a shaky construction to me. Can you provide us with a link to that thread you mentioned?

IF this is in effect (but I want to make clear this looks like making exeptions rule... or a shky thing, as someone else said).... then throwing to the crowd would be also a TO....

But I won't take that in account until I see it in print!!..
I think we are having a little problem with the BB rules: too many «mechanic» oriented rules, even if they go cleary against the spirit of the game (or rule as written, as in this case)...
I blame lawers for this!!...
AND this forum!!! It's so easy to ask something that everybody comes and asks something... making the BB rules look as something very complicated....

And I must correct my last post.... after re-reading the rules... actually the only part where the "no TO" is refered is in the landing.... so, I must admit the rule "no landing roll means TO" makes some sense.... even if I don't like!..

But I mantain that this forum is responsable for a huge increase in rules complexity: since even I can come and ask something, because I don't understand english well.... that makes the BBRC desire to make everything "clearer"... wich isn't allways a good thing!!
:D

I knew it.... I knew!!....

The part of the rules wich don't mention any landing, and say that it's not a TO unless the ball is involved are in: Allways Hungry!!!....

Why can a player be almost eaten... fall over another player, taking him down, getting injuried or killed (or eaten?! I'm not sure, but would say yes)... without any TO!!!
And then, if he is actually thrown can be a TO by hitting another player or the crowd?!?

This just doesn't make sense!!

(OK, by the wording of the rules you can reach that.... that's why I quited Law)
