Bull Centaur Tackle Zone?

Hi, I'm still rather new at this, and a guy who plays a Chaos Dwarf team just joined our league. I managed to eke out a victory over him with my Skaven, though they took a fair pounding during the match... but anyway, here's my question.

The model for the Bull Centaur takes up approximately two squares on the pitch. Does the centaur technically occupy the back space as well, or only the front space? All the other Big Guys and stuff (I dunno if a centaur is a Big Guy or not) only take up one square. Is the square the butt of the centaur occupies considered an empty space, even though the model actually takes it up? If the BC only counts for being in the first square, does he lose the one square of tackle radius that his butt would be occupying? Finally, if the back square counts as occupied as well, does he have a three-by-four tackle zone, then?

(After a bunch of haggling, I was able to convince the player of the chaos dwarves that the centaur did not get to move two squares per movement allowance, even though he is in fact two squares long. We are, as I mentioned, pretty new at this. :p )

Every player takes up 1 square no matter how large it's base.
You should either fit the BC on a round base (it fits) for easier use, or agree which square it fills (front is logical). To help, you could place the BC so that it takes up 1 square and a bit of the square to the front and back...

yer i have my centaurs on the large round basis like all my big guys, every player takes up one square just like redfang said

personally everyone i have ever played just placed them in the middle of the square with equal amount of base going into the surrounding squares, a little bit of leway is needed when it gets really crowded though

Fitting the big guys onto a normal circular base IS possible, but a pain and it kind of looks stupid

a far bettter idea is to make a slightly scaled up board with bigger sqaures (and a longer range ruler) so they fit better

Not really. I've made 4 Bull Centaurs all on round 25mm bases. 2 are reeling, one has a catching pose. Those 3 look good on the small bases. Only Hthark in his normal pose looks a bit strange.

I'd like to see those next weekend...

I prefer the larger round bases myself.

isn't that an AWFUL lot of effort to keep big guys from "looking stupid" on regular bases? why not just use the large round bases as previously stated?
