Chainsaw questions

Assume the chainsaw is started.
The rules say, "a player armed with a chainsaw is allowed to use it to attack other players instead of making a normal block."
Does that mean a player with a running chainsaw still has the option to perform a normal block?
The wording is a bit strange using "normal block". Does this mean the player cannot attack with the chainsaw using a blitz?

Yes

You can blitz with a chainsaw - a blitz action is a block with movement.

Another question.
A player blocks a player with a running chainsaw, and gets a 'both down' result, do both playerstake the +3 to AV, or just the chainsaw weilding player?

Well, since the CS wielder wouldnt' get to use the 'saw on the knock down result of a block, I would say only the chainsaw player gets the battering.
Ugly ugly situation though.

That's the way I read it as well, just looking for some sort of clarification.

HE blocks, doesn't attack.
The attack is 'cheap' enough by being a free armour roll.
No point in giving him that bonus should he decide to block an opponent (How do you do that .. headbutt ?? he's not really go his hands free)

If he blocks while carrying a running chainsaw he never gets the the +3 to Av. Its only when he makes the chainsaw attack.

Who said anything about the chainsaw player blocking? I asked if he was
blocked.

I think not, the rules seem to refer to the player with chainsaw being the attacker ... nothing about when he is attacked and knocks down his opponent.
not very sure here though

It answer still applies - you only get the +3 when making a chainsaw attack.

Nope
A player armed with a running chainsaw suffers +3 to the AV-roll if he falls over for any reason.

we were talking the other way around.
The chainsaw guy gets blitzed: atacker down. Does the +3 count??
