Is there any rule or reason why you cannot place your own player prone if you choose to do so?? I can find no rules on this and have posted on the rebbl forum but would like to know for sure.

Pure cheese.
The reason there are no rules is because you can't. Otherwise you'd never get hit by a Piling On, RSF Chaos Warrior.

Anyway, if you did you'd end up getting fouled with a lot more chance of getting hurt, Why would you want to do this anyway?

How about if you are a WA who only has 1/2 dice blocks available? Or if your star catcher is about to get pushed out of bounds?

You can always just "forget" that player during your turn...

Wat is a WA (sorry I'm new here).
A star catcher without side step or stamd firm? very rare indeed! Still fouling a great player with a dirty player and a couple of assists. Better try to dogde away. At least you've got the matter in your own hands then!

Wild Animal.
I think my point is that there are tactical situations that going prone voluntarily is a good idea - but its cheesy as hell as certainly not allowed.

It would be rather cheesy. You can keep one prone, you can't make them 'play dead' at will. You can allways roll doouble skulls if you really want to go down
PS lookign for a nice league in Utrecht??

You can however choose not to use dodge for example if you're in danger of being pushed out of bounds.

works wonders if you want to get your players hurt
On the other hand, who wants to give SPP to that Piling on RSC Rat Ogre ??
In the crowd he goes

Actually, when a vulnerable player of mine (Blitzer or Catcher) is prone at the sideline and surrounded by 1-2 opponents I leave him prone, even more if the opponent already has the IGMEOY counter. But that involves him being knocked over in the round before, of course.
But there isn't a rule that you HAVE to stand up, doesn't it? Or not?

no there isn't, and if there was, you could allways do things like that late in your turn, lotsa chances things will have gone puddle shaped by then

of course it would beardy (and I wouldn't do it anyway) but it's just normal not to stand up when you know you'll get pushed out of bonds afterwards.
BTW I always found the auto-injury from the crowd too harsh. I think to remove a player from the pitch is an advantage enough. An AV rol should have been allowed IMHO.
