Here is (to me at least) an ambiguous situation in the rules that does not make sense.

Player A throws the ball to player B who is standing next to Player C. Player A successfully makes the pass accurate, and then Player B fails to catch the ball. Per the rules the ball bounces one square when a player fails to catch the ball, and so the ball bounces to player C. Player C then rolls to see if he gets the ball and succeeds. Is this situation a turnover? I know that as long as someone on your team catches the ball after a pass (accurate or not) then it is not a turnover, and this can include the fans pitching the ball into the stands, etc. But to me when you scatter the ball after a player drops it, the ball is bouncing and is a turnover. At least I thought it was...

Has been answered here a qazillion times over the last few weeks, but no, it is not a Turnover!

This situation is not a turnover, and does in fact give your thrower a point for a completion. Player C can run down the field and try to get in scoring position.

If player C is part of the moving team, then it is not a turnover. The deciding factors are if the passer was successful at throwing the ball and if a member of the moving team ends up (regardless of how he does) with the ball...all of the stuff "in between" those two things aren't a factor.

No wonder TBB stalled a bit

And also sorry for the repeat post. On a somewhat related note, if I push an opposing player into the square with the ball, the ball scatters into one of my players and he fails to pick up the ball, is this a turnover? The reason I ask is because I thought it was a Turnover, but reading that other thread, a statement by GalakStarscraper "A FAILED CATCH ROLL NEVER RESULTS IN A TURNOVER BY ITSELF

The last part of his statement says "unless failing the catch ends with you losing possession of the ball when it comes to rest" but since I did not have possession of the ball to begin with, I did not loose possession of the ball.

My statement is still true.

Correct! ... Since you didn't lose possession of the ball as a result of the failed catch roll from the bouncing ball ... no turnover.

For some reason I thought that, if you were pushed, the ball just scattered. You didn't get an opportunity to pick it up.

Actually...you are right...the ball automatically scatters if you are pushed into it.
Now if it then scatters to one of your players and they fail to grab the ball then it is still not a turnover.
