Ongoing Sponsorship

Hallo!
I have a question about the handling of an ongoing sponsorship. You can immediatly end the sponsorship, when the sponsor is unhappy with one of the Players. Does that mean, that it is possible to finish the sponsorship before the selection of the player, that should miss the next game?
