I mean, i f the mino is next to an opposing player, does he have the right to doge and come back, to get +1ST with horns, before blitzing? A friend of mine did that in one of his games. Just want to know your thoughts on that.

Thanx

If he started his turn prone you could, but not if he was standing.

My friend says it's not stated you can't move. on the other side, you're right. if you dogde, you move 1 square and so does an action. Then the opponent can claim illegal procedure, no?

gee, my brain is smoking

If he was standing, I don't think he would be able to dodge out and then come back to hit the guy he was standing next to. That seems a little overboard and opens him up to all kinds of abuse, like trying to pick the ball up on the way back or something equally screwy.

According to Galak, yes u can dodge out, it was a suggestion for my rat ogres when dealing with treemen, if i dodged and failed then at least i would not have to worry bout the treemens mb.

Code: Select all

"...if a standing Wild Animal is adjacent to a standing player from the opposing team then they must take either a Block or Blitz action, and throw a block at an adjacent player."
It seems pretty clear that you must Block or Blitz an adjacent player if you statr the turn standing up.

Yes.... a Block or a Blitz against an adjacent player... hum...yes, I think he can move to make a Blitz against a player wich was adjacent... with "normal" players (even with chaos beastmen) this doesn't occur, because it really isn't a logic thing to do.... but with a WA you can do this to pick up the ball, be in better position when throwing the block or get the +1 bonus...

hum.... this makes WA a little bit less damaging than it was....

Agreed, but the rules allow you to move away and come back on a blitz, so long as you hit someone you started next to.

It's the adjacent part that screw's everything up.

laying out the rules word by word, it would be okay for an WA to dodge out and make a block along his blitz moves.

Well, if it is in the meaning of the WA trait, stand on another sheet ... personally I doubt it ...

i agree with you, a crazy wild animal wouldn't think of dodging away before trashing his opponent.

Personally i think a Mino would definately dodge away if they could. Bulls prefer to gore over stomping.

I think it's a lame way to abuse the rule. If left unchecked this can be abused.

I doubt this ... sorry Pariah. Allowing a WA to dodge out to blitz back I don't have a problem with.

There is a good chance that the player will turn over a dodge vs the block. If he took Break Tackle maybe not, but if he took Block, he has better odds normally to throw the block.

Just don't see the abuse part.

As somebody points out on the BB forum, it makes Stand firm a pretty good choice on a double. If you fail the dodge, your action ends and you don't have to throw the Block. May come back to that situation where you want to fail the roll.
