The LRB says that you must hve 11 players to start but can one of those be a freebooted player?

No, you have to have 11 players in your team from start , and atleast 1RR and 1 in FF

You don't have to have any re-rolls, the LRB says it's advisable to start with 1 or 2.

As for players, it just says that your team must have 11 players, it doesn't say anything about not freebooters, but seeing as hiring FB is part of the "pre-match" sequence I'd probably say no.

The restrictions are that you can field NO MORE THAN 11 players and that you must field 3 players on the LOS if you have 3 or more players on the field....

You can field 0 if you wish.... Can't imagine how the ball gets kicked off though.... I guess some things are just mechanics....

So, the freeboot question is kinda irrelevant to the fielding part of the question....

I think he means on a starting roster, not on the field.

and by the way don't you HAVE TO field 3 players on the LoS ?!

Only if you have 3 walking players - see the 2002 BBRC rules list for more details, but basically, if you only have 0,1 or 2 players who you can field they must be on the LOS unless you forfeit.

I mean starting a new team in league play. The lrb does not specify if they can be freebooted or not. Its not my team and I don't see why not, its stupid too do but some other coaches were arguing about it.

But where did you find this?! I've looked at the lrb League pages under "Starting the League" and "Team Rosters" and still can't find anything insisting on having 11 players....

'Course I'm ready to change my mind if I'm wrong....
