Stat Max Question:

My Gutter Runner has gained +1 Movement and VLL. He then aged and lost a point of movement. What happens if I roll a 10 on my next skill advancement? Can I regain the point of movement I lost?

I'd say no, because in the LRB it says that you can never gain more than a two point stat increase, but I'm not sure of that...

Good question! In my league I would allow the 3rd increase after a ageing decrease, I don't think it would do any harm.

I'd allow it in mine as well.
I think the rule is more focus on overall impact to the stat.
This is one I could definitely be wrong on though .... guess its time to start the BBRC Hot Topics 2003 ...

The verbage in the LRB 2 says no stat can be increased more 2 above it's starting value. This is different than saying that you have to stop at +2. Your negative plus the three increases leaves a net of 2.

I guess I was wrong then, and I would allow it to after this.

I can't imagine this question would come up too often, and I'd need to roll a natural 10 on my last skill for it to make any any difference. My league used to rule that VLL did not count toward the +2 limit, so it became suddenly important when the review came out. I suppose we'll have to make a house rule on it.

In Aros BB League, you are allowed to have a stat increased up to 2 above starting value, which means you can age, and than later increase again.

It's possible other BBRC members might differ on this (I don't know if we've discussed it before or not), but I would rule that you would be allowed to gain the movement increase, so long as it did not increase your stat beyond the starting value +2.
