Lightning bolt from endzone?

The lightning bolt discription states that the wizard may fire from a sideline. Does this include the endzone lines?
I mean, the sideline throw in template is used when the ball bounces off the end of the pitch - so is the "end" a "side" too - or not?

But surely a pitch has four sides, it's all a question of interpretation again
My take on it is that although sidelines usually has a specific connotation in the game in this case the intent was merely to limit the spellcaster from casting anywhere, he's not allowed on the pitch so he must cast the spell from one of the edges of the pitch.
In short - yes he can cast from the endzone.
And what official would stop him and risk being turned into a toad

I can't see where it says that the Wizard has to fire from a "sideline".
From Page 27 of the LRB:
... place it anywhere next to the game board. The Wizard may not be placed on the board itself, but the edge of the base can be tougching the edge of the board. The Ligtning Bolt has a range two squares wide and five squares in length that shoots out from the side of the board where the Wizard is placed.
I would be inclined to say that the wizard may be placed at either endzone as well as the sidelines. But that is my interpretation and the way I have always played.
Why couldn't he be at either endzone?
Ya blew 50k on him ya might as well have every opportunity to use him...

it used to say "next to the side line" or something like that - anyway I would still rule it to be read as the present wording - however I would allow to put the wiz model next to line and not outside the play board (this has relevance when firing the spell from the side of the game board with score marker) - I think that is why the the previous wording used the phrase "side line".

Maybe they need to re-word it (again!) to say "any edge of the pitch"

You're right, guess I should read the rules before posting
In this case I would say that definately the Lightning Bolt can be shot from the Endzones as well as the sidelines.

Yeah thats right but if I was legging it towards the end zone with the bal tucked under my arm and I saw a wizard wandering around the edge of the pitch I'd be doing my best to get some space between me and him. Mind you there's only a couple of squares down the centre of the pitch where a LB can't reach from a sideline. As if the fans would let a wizard lurk around the end zone anyway, pelt the dastard with rocks. Best thing that ever happened in the rules review was scrapping team wizards. Mind you it was always good to toad an Ogre or star player and then boot them out of the stadium
