How many Scatters on an Inaccurate Pass?
Ok, weird question here: How many scatters on an inaccurate Pass (3 or 4 times)?
The Throwing Rules say that an inaccurate pass first scatters three times.
The Bouncing Balls section, which says that a ball that is not cought will Bounce once.
So I guess the crux of the question is does an inaccurate pass Scatter landing in an empty square count as a ball not cought (thus it will bounce once), or not. Currently my club seems to play that it scatters one more time.
My take is that is NOT a Bouncing Ball, since most places where the ball "bounces" it uses the term "bouncing ball" and refers to that section.
Thanks,
Piousman

We play scatters 3 times in the air. Then if landing in an unoccupied square, or it is failed to be caught, scatter once more as it hits the ground.
Pretty sure that this is the right way.

Re: How many Scatters on an Inaccurate Pass?
Is the same then true of a throw-in from the crowd? In the last league I played in, they ruled that when you do the throw in from the crowd, the direction is rolled for, then the dice are rolled to determine distance. If the indicated square is empty, the ball lands there and stays. Always seemed to me that it should bounce if no one managed to catch it...

Re: How many Scatters on an Inaccurate Pass?
the rule of thumb is: when the ball flies, it always bounce.
there are three different ways of scattering for flying balls
- d8 for direction, d6 for distance at kick-off
- d6 for direction, 2d6 for distance for throw-in
- 3d8 for direction for inaccurate pass
but in all these cases, if the ball lands in an empty square, it bounce once.
when a player lose or does not acquire possession* of the ball, it just bounce once.
* I always sponsored including the concept of "possession" of the ball in the rules, because IMO helps figuring some kind of situations in an easier way, but I wasn't lucky.

Note the difference:
The ball scatters to represent inaccuracy at passes (3d8), kick-off (d8+d6) and throw-ins (d3+2d6) ie. not hitting the intended target, it bounces when it hits the ground (even from an accurate pass) or is dropped by a player.

Thank you for verifying what I thought was the case.
