Shadowing VS Blitz

Ok, from my other thread about Dump Off VS Blitz I've seen that I can declare a Blitz and then, after I've moved, I can declare a block.

Do I have to say who I'm going to Block though that isn't considered as declaring a Block?

I mean. I declare a Blitz and the Dump-Off player I'm going to block doesn't have to pass until I block him. Ok. I can Block him or not in the end though I lose the Blitz. Ok.

But.

My player is in contact with several other players, one of them has Shadowing. Can I declare a Blitz, not telling who I'm going to block, dodge away, be pursued by the Shadowing player (who then losses the assist from his teammates) and then block him?

Or do I have to lie declaring I'm going to block a player and then changing my mind and blocking the shadowing player?

......head hurts.... :blue:

Yes you can do this. It will only work though if he pursues you. Your opponent is not forced to use Shadowing.

You do not have to say who you are blocking when you declare a Blitz Action ... just as you don't have to say who you are passing to as soon as you declare a Pass Action.

Thanks Galak, I had the feeling that this would be the answer, but I find a little....¿dirty? to say "I'm going to blitz....someone  "

Thanks again!!!.

and you do not have to hit someone on a blitz same as not passing to anyone on a declared pass

But this can be an important when doing a Blitz.
Sometimes you won't want to blitz the person you originally intended to hit because circumstances change. Could be you use your team re-roll doing something (Dodging comes to mind!) and hence would rather a blitz with better odds compared to the original target. Or it's better to now hit the guy next to the ball carrier, and put a tackle zone on the ball carrier instead.
