Picking up the ball in the opponent's end zone

Hello,
The ball is in a square of my end zone. An opposing player picks it up.
Is it an immediate TD, or can the player goes back to avoid scoring the TD during this turn ?
Rules say that a TD is scored at the end of an action, but few sentences later in the same paragraph it is written that as soon as you pick up or catch the ball in the opponent's end zone it is an immediate TD.
So how does it work ?

I'll wait for someone who studies the rules officially to answer that, my only response is to Bat the guy in the head for being such an ass.

Under the current rules it is a touchdown.
The only times this isn't is if a second hit from frenzy has to come, or if you are a vampire that is suffering from bloodlust and needs to bite a thrall first.
As soon as you picked up the ball in the endzone it ended their action and they scored.

I'm not sure about this one. It's written in the FAQ section that in this case it's a TD and we don't perform the second block.
(don't have my LRB here to check).

you might be right, I don't have the LRB here to check either ;]
either way doesn't effect the answer to your specific question hehe

The Q&A says:
LRB5 wrote:Q: If a player with Strip Ball pushes a player with the ball into his end
zone is this a Touchdown? Likewise what happens if a Frenzy player’s
first block pushes a player with the ball into the End zone?
A: No, as stated in the rules, a player has to be standing and holding a
ball to score. This doesn’t happen with Strip Ball. As for Frenzy, the
touchdown is scored as soon as the player is pushed into the end zone.
The Frenzy player does not get the 2nd block.
so although the circumstance differ slightly I'd interpret this to say that the TD is scored before the Frenzy player gets to block again.

I think that this should be in the Q+A as the official answer!

This is pretty clear in the sentence after the sentence you mention:
..., or they are able to pick up the ball while in their
opponent’s End Zone, they score a touchdown. Note, however,
that in order to score a touchdown the player must END HIS ACTION
standing in the End Zone;

It all depends on who's turn it is if a TD is scored immediately or not.
If it is your opponents turn, he will not score a TD until he ends an action holding the ball in the Endzone. So, he could run in, pick up the ball and run out again without scoring a TD.
If it is your turn and your opponent is standing in the Endzone with the ball, then a TD is scored immediately. So, you don't get the 2nd block of a frenzy, etc.

how exactly do you pick up the ball if it isn't your turn ;]
surely you can only catch it, passblock you can only do if the other team is passing the ball, in which case they are already holding it when you move

I am guessing he meant the first Frenzy block pushed the opponent into the endzone holding the ball....

Xeterog is correct - if it's your turn you only score at the end of an action, so you can run in, pick up the ball, and run out again.

ok the rules are somewhat unclear on this in LRB5 (which would seem it is fine to do so though perhaps against the spirit of the rules as:
I've been playing LRB5+ where it says:
If a player from the
moving team has the ball and enters the opposing team's End
Zone, then they may not voluntarily leave it for any reason during
the same action nor may they hand-off or pass the ball - they are
far too intent on scoring the touchdown themselves!
though it does say enter the endzone with the ball, some gimpoid might say moving into the endzone and picking it up means you can run out again as you didn't have the ball when you entered the endzone
might need better wording, I'll alert galak ;]

LRB5 he can keep moving as he wants.
LRB6 he can keep moving, but can't leave the endzone.

Grumbledook - So in essence you should be able to finish your TD dance in the end zone! Also I supposed you could run in the end zone with the ball and blitz someone while still in the end zone...
