just checking about spellcaster fizzle
Right in the MBBL2 when your opponent plays the fizzle card they have to chose what spell there fizzling?, yes. so if he choses my main spell , can still cast conjure.
i think this is right but i just need to check.

Current MBBL2 rules for Fizzle grab bag special play card are:
Fizzle
Author: T. Lapin
Declare this special play immediately (now!). The opposing spellcaster will not be able to cast any spells for this match.
So no spells can be cast the entire game.
Now the OLD wording for Fizzle before Season 2 of the MBBL2 was:
Fizzle
Author: T. Lapin
You may play this card when your opponent attempts to use a Magic Item card or has a Wizard or Spellcaster attempt to cast a spell. Something has gone terribly wrong and the magic has fizzled out. The spell or card is wasted and has no effect.
This was the old card version and rule for using it in PBeM was that you could cancel one Magic Item card drawn or not allow one of the spellcaster's spells for the match.... but this is a old ruling ... its been 6 month's since we've played with the rule you are asking about.

NO.
The rules the MBBL2 uses (if you just take the core 15 teams) are the most balanced and in tune with the LRB. Most folks can at least agree with that statement. The MBBL2 rules have also been tested for 2 years so they have that going for them.
However, AT BEST, the on-pitch spellcaster (OPS) rules will show up as a House Rules article in BB Mag someday. Babs and JKL like the idea of on-pitch spellcasters, but Chet despises them. The other reason that they'll probably never see officialdom or experimental status is Jervis's mini for every rule and a rule for every mini policy of Fanatic. The OPS allow any position to be a spellcaster. So are you going to have a 4 extra minis to represent the human teams (a spellcaster variant of each slot) ... I'd bet good money no ... so they stay House Rules.
I will say though as time passes those who have played in the MBBL2 from its start (like Dangerous Dave and Sean Newboy) can tell you that slowly but surely I've been DELETING extra rules from the MBBL2. I've been purguing the league rules and each season they get closer to the LRB ... however the OPS rules are permantent. I love them and think they add a lot of fun. Sean will probably agree as his Spellcaster won the Most Valuable Spellcaster award for both the 1st and 2nd season.
Bottom line: they'll never be official; they might show up as a house rules article someday in BBM; and after 2 years of testing, I recommend any league that wants to to try them out.

Wow even without casting the last game he still got the award? Woo hoo. I find the rules very balanced. I definately prefer them to the off pitch spell casters. As to the mini-position rule, that could always be fixed with an accessory sprue, for bb in general.

Hey Galak, occurs to me that your site could do with a link to the title page at the top of each subject page. If you post a direct link as above, there's nothing that'll take you to the title/home/main page. Just a thought.
